Why is 'Revision Control Diff/Merge' greyed out Preferences->External Tools?

    Why is 'Revision Control Diff/Merge' greyed out Preferences->External Tools?

    I am also wondering why this is. If anybody has found a solution to this I would be very thankful. :)

    Diff tools are detected in their default installation locations (and using registry keys for TortoiseMerge, WinMerge, PlasticSCM Merge, and Beyond Compare 4 on windows).

    Have you installed a diff tool somewhere else?

    I've installed Plastic SCM on OSX Sierra and Unity 4.7.2 but the only option that comes up under the 'Revision Control Diff/Merge' section in Preferences->External Tools is Mac Merge Tool. Is there any way to fix this?
