Hello Everyone, Welcome to the Daydream forum. Please use this forums for questions and feedback on the preview build of Daydream. The latest version, including release notes can be found here: https://unity3d.com/partners/google/daydream Thanks! - Unity VR Team
For anyone wondering about the VR Front and Back icon expectations, Google just posted a page on their developer site with information, templates and what not about this: https://developers.google.com/vr/distribute/publishing-requirements#PB-P2
Will other phones support Daydream in the near future or will I have to buy a Pixel phone (a bit expensive right now)? Thanks!
My understanding is yes and that the only issue is technical specs that match requirements for Daydream as specified by Google.
Hi, i've just installed the last version of the daydream preview and the last sdk. I've seen new demos in there, and i'm curious to understand more especially about the VideoDemo. I'm interested in telling the videoplayer to play a file that is in the persistendDataPath, instead of in the dataPath. actually the string in the example is: jar:file://${Application.dataPath}!/assets/vid_bigbuckbunny.mp4 what should i write instead for accessing the persistentDataPath? thank you all, and sorry for my scarse knowledge and maybe stupid question
Hi! What are the practical differences between the Technical Preview and the Beta? Are there implications for the future in terms of learnings or saved projects between the two? Thanks in advance
The technical preview was just that, a preview. It was not a full featured version of Unity and, being based on 5.4 wasn't going to have much of a life once we decided things were in a state for putting into mainline Unity. The betas are where we test out the implementation of the final integration into mainline Unity. This means that, upon release, Unity will support and maintain the Daydream integration in the same manner as any of the other 25+ platforms we currently target. If you haven't started a project then I would start with 5.6. If you have a 5.4 project you can keep using GVR13 but the chance of seeing support or any future updates are slim.
