unity ui and post process effects like fisheye

    my goal is to be able to have a fisheye effect on my camera that will affect everything in the game including the ui, trouble is, as one might expect, the fisheye post process effect does not seem to play well with the ui. Sure the visuals get distorted correctly but the actual clickable areas for buttons and any rect are located in the pre-distorted locations.

    i have tried the canvas in overlay, camera, and worldspace. for a hot second it felt like worldspace might have done what i was looking for but either i was mistaken or something else happened to make it no longer work.

    there are other ways i can sort of accomplish what im looking for but if this could work it would make my life easier. just checking here to see if anyone knows if this is possible before i refactor.

    so its been a while and i was able to do a work around for this on my last project but its still something id like input on if this is possible. anyone know?
