The font is at least 10% different. Subtle changes wrought by terrible evil! I'm traumatised. Hold me.

Dunno, I haven't even worked out how to add tags myself. Every one I tried got rejected, probably because I don't have java installed either. And never will.

I can still post from a mobile. So I'm calling this one as not that evil.

It looks like just a style change, no change to any underlying functionality.

Is that the part where we accuse foreign power for changing unity forums?

Either way... I think the new color scheme is pretty ugly.
Still, it is not as bad as that lithium thing.

The extra white space at the borders is a bit annoying. I expect sites on mobile to use the full screen width.

But yeah, I'm grasping at straws for something to complain about. While the change was unnessacary, it's not fundamentally broken.

Things are getting weird ever so slightly in the forums, they want to mess with our minds!

The red notification number thingy is 2.5% thinner now, and no one knows why

Maybe with the giant masses of black at the top and bottom of the forums we can finally get a dark theme to tie the whole room together.

We're watching you, evil @SaraCecilia forest sprite. You have succeeded this time... .
NOW YOU SEE IT! They make small changes... one by one.... the evil @SaraCecilia will grow her roots throughout until it is far too late! we would be trapped... merely peat for the hunger of the forest.

Funny I envisioned the tree from poltergeist - so the thoughts are similar! o_O

I think it has something to do with connect or our Made with Unity profiles - the top of the header looks similar.

When your laptop contrast is so poor (at certain angles) you don't recognize that the top is two different colors...

When you say "code tags," do you mean something other than typing {code=csharp} with square brackets? Because that's not very difficult...

it looks like they are trying to match the same style as the main unity 3d homepage, but with themeing in this forum you can have partially translucent elements and in this case there is no detail behind part that should be translucent.

This was mentioned in the meta forum forum, but holy moly does this update ever make a mess of the code tags:

Unfortunately the button is still hidden in the same place its always been.

Its not obvious at all to new users. That's why we've been asking for the code tag button to be in a better place for a while. It shouldn't be hidden in a submenu.

Fair enough. I've been "foruming" with bbcode for years so I'm used to it, and even occasionally do things which don't have buttons.

By the way you can make a tag visible by placing [b] and [/b] after the opening tag and before the closing tag.

    [code]

    Or CAN you?

In fact, this just seems to break everything now!

Discovered that if you try to edit a post, you have to do them all over again. Quoting is a bad idea too. :p

Feeling a bit silly here, but what's messed up about it? The font?

There are two different fonts at play, one monospaced, one proportional, and each one has different rules as to when they apply.

I didn't notice, but I'm using the "Stylish" firefox extension with the unity forum dark theme that a user here has made.

Currently only admins can add tags. This was mainly to keep them more structured and easier to organize. We're open to adding more though.

We hope the update wasn't too jarring, it does feel nice to match the rest of the website though!

Where would you like for us to ask for edits to the update?

When opening a new started thread in a new tab this area here
    upload_2017-8-9_13-56-54.png
is centered in the browser window (Firefox)

Prior to the update when opening a new started thread in a new tab, it used to be top aligned - where the forum menu is
    upload_2017-8-9_14-0-40.png

Its a very subtle difference, but if the first post in a newly started thread is long - the viewer will need to scroll UP to read the entire post - rather than the browser aligning at the top to begin with, which is convenient when one wants to start at the beginning and stop at the end. :)
