    If only it was easier to port to UWS :/ so much of the code needs to be changed, even to test the builds is harder. The whole process is so annoying.

    Did you try IL2CPP? We use exact same class libraries as any other Unity platform in that case, so you wouldn't have to change all your code.

    Would have been better if this counted also for new games and developers only needed a previous game with 10.000 (or more) downloads.

    Also i do not really understand why Unity and Microsoft are doing so often promotions like this, but support for UWS is still lacking a lot, e.g. no Unity Ads Support.

    The submission deadline is Feb 2017, so if we can manage to get more than 10000 downloads before the deadline, maybe we can to submit the game then... Or can't we?

    There are so many names to juggle (like UWP, mention of Desktop..), I am just looking for information - is this open for mobile-only games, or the game has to be ported to Desktop?

    I have got my reply like 20 hours ago. I asked that because like I said, I applied for the challenge the first hour it was up in here. Since there's a price for early entries, I was wondering if I got the mail according to the time I applied. (For example, if I applied to step 1 AFTER 76 other developers, I should have got the 76th mail you have send as answer)

    I finished to migrate my first game to UWP this morning, I published my game on the Windows store, and my game is already available.

    I submit the step2, do you need the ID? or something ?

    Hi, when you submit to step 2, you'll need to add in your Windows Store URL. The URL will be sent to you from Microsoft once your game is published on the store.

    Sorry but in the step2 you ask the Steam, iOS,Android url, not the Windows Store URL.
    I already have the URL from Microsoft, but you never request it.

    UWP means Universal Windows Platform which includes mobile and PC. Do not worry, it's ok.

    Hi, i know UWP means desktop and mobile, is this XBOX too?

    Does anyone know what the equivalent of #if UNITY_ANDROID is for the touch phone UWP and desktop UWP.

    IS there a separate one?

    Can you upload two separate packages when submitting, eg. Touch Phone version, and Desktop version separate?
    The graphics and controls.. are going to be awkward if its all just ONE package.
    Graphics, textures etc are going to have to be limited if so, which is a shame for desktop version.

    It's actually pretty easy to seperate between mobile and PC controls on the same script. All you have to do is a code like this;

    if(Input.touchSupported)
    //touch controls here
    else
    //keyboard controls here

    About the graphics, you can add another if control for devices RAM, so if it's more than for example 2GB, have your ULTRA settings enabled, otherwise use a lower quallity settings.

    All the defines for Windows are these I believe:

    UNITY_METRO, UNITY_WSA, UNITY_WSA_10_0, UNITY_WINRT, UNITY_WINRT_10_0

    Already doing a mixture of techniques to have multiple ways of controlling the games in one package for other stores and platforms. ;)

    However, just wondered if there was a clearer way for windows yet, as someone could be on a touch screen, with keyboard attached, with xbox controller plugged in one port, and a third party controller plugged into another, but then decide to use a virtual reality headset and gyroscope-like controller to play.
    (yes this actually happens!) :cool:
    But what tutorial controls do you show on screen lol xbox? keyboard? touch screen?

    Graphics i know you can switch and adjust, but having 4k textures on PC, is bad choice for phones... both performance and file size.
    And adjusting things like anti aliasing in-game, to off, on, high or low can sometimes cause devices to crash.

    Anyone with experience on Windows Store know if you can submit separate packages? :confused:

    Well, I definitely understand what you are saying now.

    You can actually create different .APPX files for different platforms instead of creating an APPXPACKAGE file. Here you can find more information.

    The separate builds is much more suitable for my situation.

    I was just enquiring before i continued the windows developing, as i whacked up all the textures, sounds etc to high on my games, and they look beautiful !!
    Would have been a shame if i had to release the "mobile friendly" version for desktops. :D

    Now I wish someone could answer my question. I want to know if 'early entry' winners are also going to be announced on May 2017. I hope not, since early entry winners might be already decided since no performance or anything like that is needed to be a winner.

    I already ported and released all my games on Windows Store! It's sad to be an early adopter and because of this I cannot enter this challenge!
