Hi, Anyone have more information about Stingray Shader Support in unity3d. (mention in Roadmap 2017.2.0) Its shaderfx support?
No idea what it is, but i just read that it's supported in 2017.2 release notes Asset Import: Added support for Stingray material import from FBX.
I have tried importing an FBX from Max 2018 with a Stingray Shader but the Asset in Unity is just white... Here's a link to the files https://ocmis.box.com/s/npxzng9uzgke3vdxb4y3a7p937uifxza
I'm probably the wrong person to explain this since I am just evaluating which Game Engine to start using for Arch Vis work. The Stingray ShaderFX in Max is a Physically Based Shader. It means that you can add your materials in Max and then send then over to Unity knowing that the materials will look the same. You can also use materials from the Stingray engine inside of Unity.
According to this video https://area.autodesk.com/blogs/journey-to-vr/getting-characters-into-unity-part-one/ it works. With my simple cube example in my earlier post it doesn't work for 3DS Max. Is there a setting in Unity that needs to be changed?
