@titanty - can't get it to load even with moving the mouse, had 2 segments appear once but sadly nothing more.

Played around a bit more with the bear. I seriously have a lot more reading to do...

It is wise to go with a more bulky string texture which is tiled less, since otherwise there is no point in even texturing it. If you can perhaps make it tiled a little less even, and perhaps the dark brown could be lighter.

On second thought, I think my look is a little too subdued. This one is more intense

Agree with hipo, just make some cotton seams or some destroyed parts and it will look even better.

@bgivenb Nice one, but why is it so shiny?

Some thick string stitching down the seams would probably work well the the patchwork style eyes you've given the little guy :)

Biting the bullet and working on GUI stuff. I now have multiple screen layouts depending on the number of players, and match conditions (Score Limit, Time Limit). Also handles player controller assignment, and limits the number of players to the number of detected controllers (hard cap of 4).

Working on some modular sci fi construction kit. Trying to improve my texture/atlas work. I want everything (floor, walls, roof and some attachments in one texture sheet.

    Texture work is heavily WIP.

Virtual crash cart, now with a screenshot and less bugs!

    Web player: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3145077/CrashCart.html

You can click on any of the drawers to open or close them, and rotate the entire cart by clicking to either side of it. If drawers are open when you're rotating it, they will close.

Its sad to see that ammount of work / posting in this thread has gone down a lot. I liked it better before where all work was in one thread, now its hard to swim between the flood of the threads.

Does anyone know is FPS locked to 80 in unity 3.5 as no matter what I do I get 80fps even if I only have a cube in the scene?

In Quality Settings, change VSync Count to "Don't Sync". You can also try changing the Application.targetFrameRate if that doesn't work...

***Disclaimer*** These images aren't in engine shots from unity, but the the assets will be in a unity game. These screenshots are from marmoset toolbag. I apologize for any confusion.

Some building facades I've been tooling away on. I think I'm calling em done for now, and will come back to em tomorrow with some fresh eyes. Due to constraints, each building has a single 1024 diffuse texture only, No spec or normal unfortunately. Also, no text/recognizable symbols.
The 6 together are just shy of 4k Tris.

They are based off a few buildings in Boulevard Fernand Moureaux, Trouville-sur-mer, France: http://g.co/maps/ycm2r

ah, jeez. I feel stupid now. Those shots are not in unity yet, but they will be in a unity game. Those are rendered in marmoset toolbag. I'm not doing the integration of the assets, so I was using it to help me texture.

Keep at it, you're obviously heading in the right direction. Right now, the animation is more creepy than cute, in my opinion. WAY more. If I saw that in a game, it would scare the bejeezus out of me. Maybe you should make a Poltergeist-inspired survival horror?

Keep it up! Heading in the right direction (his knees are freaking me out, though ^^).
Also a suggestion: try to always add a ground/plane/grid to an animation video, so we can see where the floor is. I wasn't quite sure what the bear was doing at first, because I had no spatial reference.

Thanks guys, It was a quick thing I put together to teach myself certain aspects. I'll be a bit more patient from now and work on the finer details more. @Orkze I was going to put some floor down so one could have reference but the animation went wonky cause of me rushing, so i took it out. Thanks for the inspiration, you shall slowly see better quality from me I assure ;)

Marcos is that hair shader used, and is that inside Unity or Zbrush as dogzerx said? Great work.

    Cheers Dogzer and janpec!

It's a screengrab from ZBrush, I just wanted to share my first little play around with the new fibers :) really fun for visualising characters, feels like you are brushing hair haha

Also it looks crazy when you render hair in it now, but I'm pretty awful at getting a nice looking render, hence the screengrab. I really should sit down and spend some time learning.

Marcos if you wait for Unity dx11 system you could probably get those hairs in game with tesselation. Basically all you need is 4k map and those hairs could be extruded as polygons. For low poly version you would just need to retopology mesh that would also cover hairs, and then tesselation would push those hairs down or up as needed.

I'm currently working on a lockpicking mechanic and also fooling around with controller input.

Currently only playable with an controller (I hope all and not just xbox360 controllers work?!) but here's what I have so far:

Each stick controls a lockpick and you have to keep them aligned and turn the lock 180° (any direction for now).
    Feedback is very much appreciated!

    It's very, very dark.

It could really use some more lighting (and some more interesting lighting, too - the white/black light at the moment is really boring, try giving it some colour - more yellow or green).

Dark and spooky doesn't mean nearly pitch black - that's no fun to wander round in in a game. You can achieve even better levels of atmosphere with good lighting.
