Scene Fusion VR - 'multiplayer' workflow

    Update: As of Scene Fusion 1.3, EVR version 0.0.2+ support is in. It should work with the current development branch. Because EVR is so early, there may be bugs, so don't hesitate to reach out!

    Building in VR has some advantages, however we have found that it also has a few disadvantages when it comes to large-scale layouts. We have been playing around with combining VR with desktop workflows. This is what it looks like:

    This is incredible. 10 years from now all teams work like this, or they've gone out of business. No offense to Unity's current scene version control via XAML text (which is way better than the whole-lot-of-nothing UE4 is offering, BTW), but this leaves all 3D version control in the dust. Real-time collaborative level design in VR? Yes please.

    Glad to hear you like it. I'm hoping we'll get it released very soon - a few things need to fall into place first.

    Update:

    Our work is pretty much done. We have scheduled it for our next Scene Fusion release, which should be just before or around the time of GDC. It will rely on the next EVR release.

    BTW, if anyone is heading to GDC, KinematicSoup will have a booth set up, so come visit us in the South Hall, booth 204!

    Scene Fusion now has EVR support, we are now just waiting for EVR 0.0.2 to be released. If you try Scene Fusion with VR, make sure to use the current development branch of EVR until the next release.
