Looks very nice and seems interesting, I would LOVE to make a survival game. I love the style, it's like Rust.

We're glad you like it, yes it has a Rust style to it, but the systems are flexible and will allow you to do anything, survival-related.

Absolutely not, we are a completely different team, our focus will be the support, not taking people's money and giving up afterwards, (which I think it's the case with that asset).

We're trying to make every system modular, so if you don't want it, you can easily get it out.

Hi there! We're happy you like it, fact is, we're preparing a shorter version of a trailer right now, showing all the weapons, and part of the inventory-related systems, the trailer will come in about 1-2 weeks, the weapon video should be up in ~1hr

    @Winterbyte312 The video looks great!

    1) As Reiner just asked, if your implementing coop multiplayer, then it's not a stretch to do online multiplayer and would take the asset to the next level for sure

    2) I know you mentioned the focus was being modular, but how difficult is it to add our own weapons, skills, etc.

    Thanks and good job!

Hi Reiner! Our plans are to create a COOP mode, but with toggable PVP, I think this way people will have a great base for both games like The Forest (coop-oriented), and Rust (pvp-oriented). However, the multiplayer will be as modular as possible so people wanting to create a single player-only game can use this template as well.

Honestly, straightforward and easy, on top of the documentation, I will create video tutorials showing how to use every bit of the template.

    Another
Another important thing I want to mention is that we're going to be in beta for the next couple versions (next couple months), so regardless of the state the asset will be in at release, we will improve the asset a lot, in every way, that's our goal, we know we can't create something solid without people giving in opinions.

Sweet! I was thinking a fair price, for both us the developers, and the people, considering it will be in beta until ~version 1.3, 49.99$ should do it. We might raise the price in the future when it becomes more mature.

Hi! :) I'll let you know when it's ready for selling, so you don't have to wait 5 - 10 days for the Unity guys to review it. That will be around December 10th. But I would recommend waiting a couple more days so you can write a review on the store.

Hi there. We have mobile support on our list, we have it planned for v1.1 - v1.2.
I'll add that in the roadmap list.

As a side note, the functionality will be the same, but the demo scene will be downgraded, including the GUI, as mobile devices don't handle transparency well. However that shouldn't be a problem, I'm sure the included models & textures will be changed anyways.

    C# or JavaScript?
And the code will be obfuscated or not?

If C# and not obfuscated I will totally buy it for that price.

Anyways, it looks like it will be the best survival template on the market. Especially with network support. Even uFPS doesn't support that (you need to pay extra 20$ for an very simple networking example? meh)

    My suggestions:
    - simple Procedural Map script?
    - If multiplayer - server files, to save/load maps
    - Simple menu and lobby for multiplayer coop
    - Explosives
    - Building upgrades like in Rust
    - Ladders, hatches or just a stairs
    - When mining, you can add a Rust-like destroying parts
    - Dropping/taking items (if not implemented)
    - Random zombie spawning on map (and more zombies in structures, configurable)
    - Do a bolt-action a bolt-action, not an automatic rifle. :D

    Hi there!
The code is entirely written in C#, and will absolutely NOT be obfuscated. It will defy our very purpose for this asset, which is to make the code as user-friendly as possible, commented, organized, easy to read, etc. We want people to learn fast, with the help of the docs and videos, and then build upon, that's the only way I think game templates should be made. Now about the suggestions:

"- simple Procedural Map script?" - In this first version we could concentrate on so much, so we dont' have a procedural map, it is a high possibility we'll add it in the future, it seems like a good addition.
"- If multiplayer - server files, to save/load maps" - Multiplayer will come in 1.2, what you're saying seems similar to rust, so that means we have to create a procedural map system first, we'll think about it when we do 1.2 & 1.3.
"- Simple menu and lobby for multiplayer coop" - We already have menus in the plan, the template will be complete in the end.
"Explosives" - absolutely, we'll do that in 1.1
"- Building upgrades like in Rust" - that can come as an upgrade in the couple versions.
"- Ladders, hatches or just a stairs" - we already have a ladder implemented, we just didn't show it in the first video.
"- When mining, you can add a Rust-like destroying parts" -
"- Dropping/taking items (if not implemented)" - it's implemented...we're preparing a video to show more things, including this.
"- Random zombie spawning on map (and more zombies in structures, configurable)" - Yes, we have a spawning system.
"- Do a bolt-action a bolt-action, not an automatic rifle. :D" - the rifle in the video is a bolt-action, but we haven't yet implemented the animation.

Thank you a lot for your interest! As I said, a video will come soon, I wanted to post it yesterday, but I personally had to do a lot of code refactoring and it's going to be delayed a little.

How flexible is the GUI system? I had a lot of assets where changing completely UI is actually almost impossible or just hard as F***. And what with items? Is there somewhat of a "editor"? ;)

I'm just asking a technical questions, because you're guys saying that your product is flexible and easy to modify. I just want to know how :D

We're really working hard to make it easy to modify and extend, now, we won't know exactly what people need, until the asset gets released, but we try our best. The asset will be improved many months from now, so keep that in mind. And also I'll be doing tons of tutorials.
    This is the item editor:

You click on the item, and the inspector updates, to show the data, and let you modify it, you can add descriptions, properties, etc. Also you can add new types & properties, and you can rearrange the lists.

Wooow, looks like it is really easy and fun to do. if every script configuration looks like that, it will be the most valuable and fair priced asset on the market. Can't wait to buy it!

:) So happy you find it valuable, yeah...that's what we're trying to do, to pack as much value as we can in it.Now, about the editors, there are a few windows, like the item editor, recipe editor, input manager, and a few other helpers, which are designed to be easy to use. For the normal script editor, we tried to stay away from creating a custom editor, so we don't make a dependency between the two (if you add something, or modify, in the normal script, you'll have to modify the editor script as well). We are using a custom editor for a few scripts, but the rest are normal ones, so you can jump right in and modify the script. (They are organized though, and are using custom property drawers and attributes), but they don't get in the way of the user modifying the script like they wanted. This is an example of a normal script (without a custom editor):

Player Motor (responsible to reacting to player input and moving the character):

FPRaycastGun (used for handguns, rifles, shotguns, and so on (guns)):

As you can see, every setting has a tooltip, and will be documented accordingly.

About 1.5 - 2 hours, it's uploading on youtube now, but very slow, this is one of the reasons I don't make a higher quality video, for the video trailer I'll create a more professional one, 1080p, and edited. In the video I'm playing with the inventory, crafting, furnace, campfire, time of day, torch and a couple more things. They will be better in the final product, as everything else I show in these videos, but it should work for now to give you an idea of how it is.
