    What is TexEmit?
TexEmit is a tool created to allow developers more control over the way they emit particles from meshes in Unity. TexEmit enables you to emit particles from points on a mesh determined by a reference texture.

    How does it work?
Users can generate emission locations on a UV unwrapped mesh by using a reference texture, similarly to the way you would use a standard emission map. TexEmit will read unmasked areas and emit a target particle system from those locations based on the user defined parameters. Users can create particle systems the same way they usually would and are afforded all the controls that the Unity particle system has out of the box.

What are the potential use cases?
We are currently using this tool commercially to emit particles from character armour sets, spruce up environmental assets and generally get more control out of the existing particle system tool set.

    Why is it in Beta?
While we are using this tool commercially, we still think there is more we can add and we would love to hear what users would like out of it also. Considering this we are offering TexEmit at 60% off during beta so that early adopters can get on board at a reduced price and join us as we add more features.

That's it! We're excited to be bringing this tool to the Unity community and we hope you get great use out of its features. If you would like to contact us for support, please use the channels below. We will check back here also to answer any questions you should have.
