    Hello everyone,

    Ultimate Rpg Engine is a powerful RPG 2D Editor where you can take your own 2d Tiles and place them easily in Unity Editor.
    It come also with many Unique features in Unity such as Multiple Levels, Bridge system, Turn Based Battle, Hack N' Slash battle, 2D Light, Doors, Teleport, NPC AI, Factions, DayTime, MapChunk... and many more.

    V1.2 Released and V1.3 is coming soon!

    v1.2 - Added Teleport Script into the Editor so now you can easily travel in map with a Teleport animation.

    v1.3 - Added Dialog Bubble added. You can now manage easily some little Rectangle or Round bubble above NPC. It can have many of them like a normal conversation. Just need to Left click to see the next one.

    - Made a new File structure (by folder and subfolder) (more info coming soon!)
    - Added many new functionnality like :
    Tile Picker (allow you to select a tile and create new one easily)
    Undo/Redo
    Tiles Size (1x1, 2x2, 3x3) Can create lot of tiles at the same time (usefull for ground tiles)

    Lite version has been accepted!
    This version include all the features in this package, WITHOUT the HD Tiles and HD Characters.
    Also, it won't be updated as much as this package.

    Version 1.9.5 has been sent to the Asset Store.
    I added 2x style (Real Time & Turn Based).

    Everytime you enter the table, there is a little smooth transition between the main scene and the new one.
    When the battle is over, it goes back to the main scene without re-loading everything. Also, the Hostile NPC die and vanish.

    There are lot of Skills and they can all be modified like you want.
    Melee, Ranged or Cast Skills.
    Also, there are Spells which do some damage, apply a Dots, Buff or Debuff the target, healing spell, Shield...

    Testing your demo scene's I get this error-

    A game object can only be in one layer. The layer needs to be in the range [0...31]
    UnityEngine.GameObject:set_layer(Int32)
    TDP_OutlineManager:OnPreCull() (at Assets/2d_TDP/Script/TDP_OutlineManager.cs:136)

    In editor and on play test, most if not all character's including player have black backgrounds.

    When first starting the project, it throws about 183 non critical errors, to many to list.

    Any ideas. Using you latest version from asset store and Unity 5.5.3f1 on a Mac.

    Create a layer named Outline.
    Does it fix your errors?

    I did, no luck, and I see nothing specific regarding TDP_OutlineManager in the scene that should be put on that layer.

    Looks like there is a new set of issues using Unity 5.6.1f1 as well, sadly at the moment, the kit is not useful to me until it has been updated for 5.5.3f1 at the least unless I am missing something.

    It was working with 5.5.0 but I'll check this out to make it work to the latest build.

    There you go.
    I've uploaded the latest fix so this can be compatible with unity 5.6.0f3.

    There is still a minor bug which prevent creating a sprite with a blank picture.
    I will fix this soon but everything else should work properly :)

    This should take about 2-3 days to get in the Asset Store.

    TY, appreciate the fast response time and update.

    Now I wanted to ask, I noted you did not add the 3rd combat option to the combat portion as you have in the standalone, any plans to add it?

    It would also be fantastic if the combat could take place in the same scene based on where it was initiated instead of a separate scene with a backdrop.

    I would also love to see Turn based movement added to combat if possible vrs the current jump to position then return.

    I noted you considered adding a quest system, wanted to know if you will be pursuing that and possibly inventory management etc.


    These would save a huge time coding or creating.

    3 - Just to be sure, you would like a option when the character do a melee attack, he walk then do his attack and go back to his position right?

    4- Yes, I plan to add this. For the Quest, Quest Helper, shops... I need Items and Inventory. But first I plan to work again on some minor issues.

    2- You would be able to achieve it just by modifying some of my code. I'm using another scene to prevent too much memory without closing it.

    3 - Oh just like final fantasy tactic...
    Maybe when I'm re-working on my RPG Battle system, I might use it.

    I've completed my latest package (2d Top-Down Shooter) which can be found here : LINK
    It is on approval currently, but in 2-3 weeks, it will be available on Unity Asset Store.

    Now, you may want to know where I'm going with this package?

    Here is a little screenshot showing some *HINT*


    I will re-create the entire GUI which mean there is lot of work ahead!

    First of all : I want to add
    - Currency
    - Items
    - Character Sheet (Party (more than 1 characters. so you can battle with 1-2-3-4-5... ), Equip them with different gears)
    - Inventory
    - Quest (Showing the Quest name, description, rewards, Quest Mark above NPC. Quest Chain, Repeatable Quest...)
    (Quest type : Kill x amount NPC, Talk to another NPC, Get X Amount of Item (which can be found on hostile unit OR shops)
    - Quest Helper (Showing current Quest with a counter Ex : 8 / 18 Bandits Slain)
    - General Option (Sounds volume, Quit button)

    Secondly :
    - Multiple Currency. Can have more than one. Even some which need a item to trade for another item.
    - Shops NPC
    - Crafting (Anvil or another item, NPC or Anywhere. You decide with an option).

    Later :
    - Saving/Loading a game. Save separately game file.
    - Adding some Event which will be saved. Ex : you kill the bandit King, he die. He won't spawn again.
    - Improving the 2D Dialog Bubble. Have full conversation. Add some Event.
    - Mobile Ready


    If you have any ideas, please post it below or what your thinking about these.

    It did resolve the biggest issue, the black background on default character and Npc's in your new 5.6 demo. Still throwing 90 or so non critical errors.

    Also, when starting the demo there are two default characters, the 1st is player controlled, the 2nd duplicate seems to be an npc who comes right at you as soon as you start, dialog opens, cannot click out of it, if you click on that npc it brings up the combat trasition screen but never enters combat, after a minute pops up the customization screen and you are stuck there. I resolved that by deleting that 2nd default npc.

    When you enter the 1st dungeon in tower, combat imitates fine, but, the action bar for turn based is not aligned properly and the options overlap. Funtionity is there though and the center skeleton shows no body sprite, weapon shows and it can be attacked and seemingly killed. Simple fix there no doubt. When that combat ends, it does not transition back however.

    In the dungeon on the area past the tower, you get stuck at or around the stairs and if a skeleton is close enough to move and attack the combat does not initiate when you click on him.

    Noted that while moving player there would be many areas he would get hung on movement or stopped for no apparent reason and that transitioning on to or off bridges and through doors will sometimes do the same or otherwise act glitchy. May be related to controller or even collider. Another oddness is when going over bridges, at least using your provided ones and artwork, there is clearly roped sides that you can walk past and even off the side of bridge. For that, I imagine is simply resizing the colliders.

    Mind you, all of this is encountered through just your demo. I have not tried my own scenes and assets yet to confirm if these issues are present as I am using your demos to study and confirm functionality.

    I imagine most if not all of these issues are simple fixes or may be related to my set up

    Wanted to see if you could add a point and click navmesh movement controller with path finding at some point as well.

    Again, thanks for the quick reply and update. Makes me glad I spent my money on an asset with a invested creator.

    Fixed many manys bugs today.
    Still have some trouble with the demo scene but it will be fixed soon.

    I created a little Beta Demo for the next Upcomming patch here : link

    Here is some info about the Inventory. I created the ToolTips which is very very usefull to compare items and to know whats on it. Everything can be modified on your ends.

    As you can see. Items can now be dragged on another itemslot. If there is a item, it will be switched together.
    If you look closely to this screenshot.

    You can define item rarity and put a color on it.
    In the demo, there is Common (gray), Rare(Green), Magic(Blue), Epic(Purple) and Legendary(Orange).
    When you go above a items, there is a tooltip showing every info about it.
    Name (in the color of the item rarity).
    If the items is for a Class ONLY.
    Also, you can define all your own stats and put a value for everyone. They will stretch the Item Tooltip correctly.
    I've also added Durability, the level required to equip this item.

    If you compare both screenshots below, you can see there are 2x currency. You can define now as many currency for that items as you want. Currently, there is King Mark & Golds, but you can modify it and put others icons.

    I've been working on the Character Sheets.

    I had to create the PARTY class. Now you will be able to have many characters in your character.
    Every characters have their own equipped items.
    Also, when clicking on Member1/Member2/Member3 button at the top switch between them. (look at the next screenshot)

    Also, above the equipped items, we have the Sum for every stats on all items.
    On the party sheet, the item tooltip will be shown on the right side of the item.
    On the inventory sheet, the item tooltip will be shown on the left side of the item... this prevent of not seeing the info.

    Here is a late update about the project.
    I've updated the demo so you can see the character sheet almost done.

    You can Equip items.
    Also, when you drag a item, you will see the square to be in GREEN showing where the item need to go.
    Gear Slot ONLY accept the item of the same gear type. Cannot equip a sword on a breastplate slot.

    Also, every gearslot has it's own background icon to help the player.

    Now I'm focusing on the Quests and all the Quest Type (Kill NPC, Talk To NPC, Escort NPC, Get Items).
    This one may take sometime :p

    I'm sorry for the late UPDATE!

    I've been really busy in RL.

    Here is a little screenshot showing a little bit the Quest System.
    Above the Quest Giver, there will have a Exclamation Mark floating above is head. When you click on it,
    instead of is default Dialog, he will give you the Quest.


    Quests is very flexible.
    You can specify MANY MANY objectives and in the end, you can select your quest rewards. Also the Tooltip work in this screen showing the items stats correctly.

    When you accept the quest, the Exclamation Mark dissapear and the Quest Rewarder will have a Interrogation Mark above it's head. If all the objectives has been completed, it will be in GOLD, but if there is some not done, it will be in GRAY.

    THEN you will be able to select the right rewards + XP + Golds.

    You can specify the Currency, how many XP, how many Items will be given, QTY for Potions etc etc.

    Currently, only the Talk to NPC quest type has been coded so far.

    There will have many Quest Type like :
    - Kill NPC : You will have to hunt some NPC and kill the right amount to receive the rewards
    - GetAmountItem : You have to kill some NPC OR Buy the items on a vendor OR Loot it in the world.
    - EscortNPC : The QuestGiver will then walk in a specific path and your job is to defend him.
    - and there is TalkToNPC : You must speak with a NPC.

    You can combine them together :
    - Kill 8x Bandit
    - Bring 10X Food Crates
    - Talk to John which is located in the bandit camp

    I hope you like it!

    As soon it is working, I will release this new patch so you can add it to your game.

    Not currently but it could be modified to do this yes.
    Need to modify a little bit the AI, attack animation and handle the damage there.
