Questions about the unity match maker and making LLAPI netcode

Hi

Is it still possible to use unity's match maker stuff whilst writing all my network code from the transport layer without the HLAPI ?

If so do i have to setup some stuff for it ? Seems kinda elusive in terms of information for it - as is the entirety of LLAPI.
