Good, good. Maybe soon UT will give me that official position. I think so far I've only had 1 or 2 admin laughs.

    Yep...

Everyone, stare at the front page and wait for a Unity Comedy Show to appear... ;)

Too bad they have the same subscription prices as Unity, but this is really overpriced

Because they lack many other features you can find in Unity Personnal and (terrain system, lightmapper , plugins etc ...) and the support team is too small to get faster bug fixes or new features.
At least the Free version have a black theme editor lol

The biggest challenge for this engine to make any headway will not be 'having some features better than Unity' and being 'nicer to work with'...

    These are the real challenges...

    • Having a large, knowledgeable, supportive community
    • Having a knowledge base of posts across the internet, with people documenting fixes for a multitude of issues
    • Is the engine proven in the real world across platforms and devices?
    • SDK support for the engine. How many 3rd party SDK's actually support this engine?
These are the kinds of questions developers need to ask before jumping ship, and ask themselves, is it worth investing the time into it?

Unity has had a 10 year head start (after releasing their beta), and is very established in all the above aspects.

Also, charging $75 US a month for their first tier, comparable to Unity's Plus tier, which devs can get for $35 US a month is not a great way to gain loyal followers, they need to rethink their pricing strategy if they want to pull away and compete with Unity users.

I had to use that. When fiddling with Unreal for uni. Still doesn't change the fact that Unreal engine is fundamentally different.
Anyway, not the topic so I'll shut mah mouth now haha
