    something i thought could help people

    Server Installer

    Server Installer 0.1 Alpha(so be nice)
    Supports:
    Windows 7
    Windows Vista
    Windows Server 2008 R2
    Windows Server 2008

    It Should:
    For Windows 7/Server 2008 R2
    Install IIS7.5
    Install PHP 5.3.10
    Install Mysql 5.5.21

    For Vista/ Server 2008
    Install IIS7.0
    Install PHP 5.3.10
    Install Mysql 5.5.21

    NOTE MYSQL Password is "pass" (Remove Quotes)
    NOTE2 Run Install Script as Administrator

    Currently there is no error coding its scripts designed to download a safe and stable versions of the needed software. If its useful I'll continue development so there server side is completely setup. Currently it doesn't install the DB or Tables or Smartfox 2x. I spent less than an hour for this release next one will be much more developed. :D

    Anyway you can post a video on how to get npcs to spawn correctly? I am having a problem getting my test npcs to spawn in my little test world.

    it works thanx man.

    Just a thought would the possibility be there to have the npcs we create as a npc_template then just spawn them another way? It would allow you to just select the NPC from the DB and just enter its spawn coords. As well how to open the server code up in Eclipse so it can be modified and tinkered with?

    Simply open eclipse, right mouse click ---> Import---> Existing Project into workspace---> Navigate to the unzippt source files.

    Zerano, why are there two player prefabs (player.prefab and the player2.prefab) ? Does every charactermodel also needs a own player.prefab?

    Because:
    if i'm making a new prefab in CreationModels (e.x. replacing MareOrcMale with my new model) it shows up in the creation scene, but when i click create and the game scene starts it's showing the Wizard prefab...


    also for future updates: it would be nice if one could customize his character (hair, piercings,...) without the need of creating a whole new one.

    Yes i need to fix/remake that, at the moment there are creation prefabs and local-/remote player prefabs, need to rework that.

    I do not have a model where i can setup this customize things like hair, piercings

    Ok, so i think this fix should definitley be in the next update because it is a elementary feature of your kit :)

    Maybe you can setup the customization with empty model prefabs, that one can see how the system works and can just replace the empty prefabs with his/her own prefabs? Just an idea...

    it need a guild system and trade between player ( item&gold )
    For the talent tree, if you can make a window to customize them how spell are placed and how much , etc... this will be more easy to make the tree for every class.
    Chat : resizable and movable ( save both on server side )
    And maybe a dungeon system
    and after this is gonna be perfect !!!

    I am working on it, but collision is not very simple.
    And if i see that people who bought the kit share it,my motivation goes down...

    The more updates you bring the more sales you will get. If the kit gets more features i'm sure people who are on the fence of buying it will get it most likely.
    Otherwise, it is very hard to protect the product against privacy...

    I hope you get it finished soon :)

    One question: How can i apply the "Walk desire --> random walk " to a npc?
    I know how to create a npc but don't know where to configure its ai.

    I too am waiting for more updates.
    We bought the kit and have paid for custom work. Witch he has done quickly and gave great support for. The problem is a few who have bought the kit are sharing it with others here in the unity community and also on other priate sites.

    This has lost him sales and he has had to deal with his work being stolen. If a few give it away then his updates dont sell.
    This is so bad for those of us who have done the right thing and are waiting for new updates.

    I'm not sure what will happen. I hope that he dones more updates for those he knows are not sharing it.

    i understand...
    maybe zerano could build in a authentication process for everyone who uses the kit. if a kit gets used by different people/computers then we know that it got shared!
    sounds easy, probably is hard to do...

    since he provides the source for the kit it would only take seconds to remove most protection, it best people just appreciate and don't share it

    Yes exactly. But some dont see it this way. One of the buyers of this kit ripped me off on a difforent job we paid him for. You will find this in anything that you do. but for us and any developer who creates a kit or plugin we suffer. Its my hopes that this kit continues. But in the end he still needs to make money and protect his work.

    But then again his kit isnt the only one being given out or shared. And we all still need to move forward and get our games made. People pirate music and movies every day but artist keep producing.

    I forgot to delete the old database.sql , if omeone is already upgrading the kit, please use the new unitydb.sql! I will delete the old one soon.

    Do not look at people pirating your software as a loss of a sale. Those that pirated your software were not going to buy it anyways. There will always be those that will try and get such things for free, and there is very little you can do about it, and what you can do about it isn't worth your time because, again, they weren't going to buy it in the first place.

    Also, those that pirate will more than likely never release a game, so it wouldn't even be worthwhile to take them to court.

    Does it suck? Yes. But you need to look at it as I just stated. You lost no money, even though it seems that way. Look at the pirates as free advertisements. It gets your product out there to more people, an there are those who will see it, decide to make a game and then buy your licensing.

    Yes i know, but i am investing my time to give support to that people, because i do not know all people who bought the kit. It was simply a coincidence that i realized it, because the guy contacted me before. It is okay, because he said, that he will buy it in the future. It makes me only sad, because people share it.

    if i run the new sql file (unitydb.sql) i get this error:
    i deleted the old database before running the script.
    Anyone gets the same error?

    Your fields are not standard base kit fields.
    You must have had some custom work done. So did I so maybe he is making a workaround for user like us.

But there will be soon(if i do not get some freelance work) a new update, i will move some more things to database and sort the server code a little bit, so it is easier to customize and a better structure. I noticed, that the server code is already very long and i want to move some parts in a library.
