Last year I released my game 'Mr. Mustachio' on iOS which was made with Unity. It was on the App Store Educational Games list for a while.

This year I have been working on much bigger and much better sequel to it. The concept remains the same - Given a rule and and some values, the player has to match a row/column of the grid to it. (It's actually not that easy!). While the original game was only 'numbers' based, the new version is far more expansive and has several worlds to complete.

I have added a lot more stuff to the game such as Boosters to upgrade every aspect of your game, Funny News Flashes, Proficiency Tracker, Scoring performance tracker, comprehensive statistics etc. and would share those updates soon as well.

And like before, the further you go, the longer Mr. Mustachio’s moustache grows!

Also, this game is completely made in Unity UI!!

Hopefully the game should see its release in a few weeks!

(In case anyone wants to try out the original game, here's the AppStore link - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mr.-mustachio/id1143957161)

Sharing some screenshots from Mr. Mustachio 2 :

[I had posted this thread yesterday but because of the Unity Forums hack, the forums seemed to have been rolled back and I lost that thread. A few people were very kind and gracious enough to provide their feedback. Many thanks to them. Thankfully I got an email with their feedback so it wasn't completely lost.]

    Dev Update:

In the first version of the game, I had put in four difficulty levels -Kid Easy, Easy, Normal and Hard. This served the purpose well as players could choose the level they were comfortable with and play as long as possible. Also there was a provision for earning diamonds (in-game currency) for solving the grids. There was a small problem here as there wasn't much to do with the diamonds except for trading them for more Aids.

In Mr. Mustachio 2, I have decided to do away with the different difficulty level. I have taken a leaf out of the endless runners, and instead of the difficulty levels, there are now 'Upgrades' available to boost the many facets of the game! This gives the players more options to use their diamonds that they have earned and the boosts allow them to go farther in the game!

Attaching a gif showing the 'Booster Upgrade' screen:

    Dev Update:

Apart from introducing a whole lot of features and changing and shaking things up a bit from the first version, there are some UI changes being done as well. Some subtle changes to make the screens look better and in some cases redesigning or re-colouring of the screens to provide a better experience.

    Some examples:

Small change in the game start up scene:
    Before & After:

Added a bit of colour and flair to some screens:

    Before & After:

Redesigned the Store screen for trading Aids for in-game currency:

Quite a bit of changes to the actual grid UI as well. Will provide an update on that as well soon.

    Dev Update:

Some minor changes to have been made to the Grid UI as well to make it cleaner and a bit better looking.

Starting with the change in the rounded rectangles which housed the operators, which are now replaced by simple and cleaner demarkation lines giving a bit more space to the content in the the grid as well. The triangle buttons are also a bit better looking now.
    Before & After:

The row/column marking which were simple rectangles are also a bit modified now.
    Before & After:

The correct and wrong markers have also been changed from the huge grid surrounding blocks to a bit more subtle bordered rectangles with better appear animation.
    Before & After:

    Before & After:

Working on quite a few such minor changes to make it a better experience!

    Hi

It took me longer than I expected but finally an improved version of Mr. Mustachio 2 is out now on the App Store!
A lot of updates have been put in this version.

    Download link : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mr-mustachio-2/id1229343195?mt=8

** Now three different modes of play available!
    STORY MODE
: The original gameplay is now called the 'Story Mode'. Each world has fixed number of levels. Move onto the next world once you finish the previous one.
BURST MODE: A two minute challenge! See how many grids you can solve in a fixed time.
INFINITY MODE: Have a liking for a particular world? Play that world endlessly till your lives run out.

** The second world - 'It's a Circular World' is also now open by default. For the ones who want to skip playing around with numbers and math.

** Added the ability to unlock the worlds using the diamonds earned in the game. You can still unlock the worlds by playing the story mode and completing the worlds which automatically unlocks the next one.

** Improved the 'Statistics' and 'Performance Graphs' pages to give you a view based on the three different modes.

** Added a couple of seconds more to the timer per grid to make it a bit less aggressive at the start. Time can always be added to the timer through the 'Booster' section.

** Improved the Tutorial a bit. A separate tutorial for the first world explaining the mathematical grid. Again can be skipped by the players not interested in numbers.

    ** Minor UI improvements.

** Fixed a few bugs as well! (and probably introduced some more :))

** Also improved the App Store Screenshots! A bit better looking now (hopefully!).

Looking forward to more feedback and suggestions from the community. Thanks Again!

A couple of updates have been pushed on the App Store:

v2.1 released on the App Store
A quick patch for the 2.0 release is now on the App Store. Fixed a bug that was crashing the game from a popup.

Also added a new option to be able to get some extra diamonds via viewing video ads. This option is available in the Store Section!

v2.2 released on the App Store
I honestly did a poor work in setting the difficulty level for the game and ended up making it much harder than necessary. This is the nth attempt to try to fix it. The timer should be much more relaxed now. Hope I got it correct this time around

Also this week, I updated the original version of the game and back-ported some screen design changes back to old version and make it better looking. The link if anyone wants to try out the original game - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mr.-mustachio/id1143957161

After iOS, I am trying my luck on the Android platform as well. Always tricky, considering the huge number of devices that are available. Not sure how it is going to work on all of them. But, it is out there. I have deployed the build onto Google Play. Fingers crossed now. If people want to try out, here's the download the link:

The iOS link as well :

Would really appreciate people trying it out on the platform of their choice and if you could spare some time to rate and review, that would be really kind of you.
