    Hello dear unity developer,

can you please check if the latest build from today is corrupted ?

i am using ubuntu 16.04 lts,i tried with both the official installer and the sh.
i also noticed that both files are smaller then 5.4.2 version.

    thanks and greets Yücel

    Same problem.

I downloaded unity-editor-installer-5.4.3f1+20161117.sh multiple times via wget. Always the exact same issue:

Running bzip2recover on the archive shows that the file has been truncated:

EDIT: It's also only half the size of 5.4.2f2.

The SHA1 sum posted by @Tak matches, however, so the file was probably already broken on his system :)

Hopefully @Tak will take notice and reupload the archive!

Argh, you're right - the sha1sums match because they're generated from the public files.
    I'll upload new builds asap.

I have the same problem. I am running Linux Mint 18 KDE. Running the .sh script as an executable from a konsole.

Looks like the new build is up!

Of course, the build I'm really waiting for is 5.0.0f1 :D

5.0.0f1? that is a puzzle for me. Be careful with the earlier releases, they will roll back your distro's installation into nothing. They act like a hole where everything in your computer gets sucked out. Only way I will install a unity dep package is if I unpack it myself because of what it did to me. I get scared of the other dep files from other people.

    I tested out
    unity-editor-installer-5.4.3f1-3+20161125.sh
and it's working. I had to install npm.

    Oops, I meant 5.5.0f1 :)

I have never tried any of the .deb files. So they list their dependencies and the package manager tries to resolve them? Interesting!

The is how the package manager works in Linux Mint and also Ubuntu. They will automatically install any dependency. I'm surprise you didn't know that, or did you?

And yes the problem with the oldest releases listed on this page, is they will start uninstalling your OS.

Not a clue -- I found out some 12-15 years ago that Debian (and Debian/APT-based distros) just aren't my cup of tea. I'm running Gentoo/portage where the package repository is a bunch of python scripts declaring dependencies and build/install instructions. The .deb format is pretty alien here.

I am talking with a linux professional. I have lived in a linux world where everything is done for me. Even if I have to trouble shoot, I only need to use google search. (I can't use linux in any other way, and bill gates scares me.)
