Today we’re excited to introduce the Immerse Framework, a toolkit of building blocks for creating interactive and multi-user virtual reality (and standalone) environments with Unity.

It's available now from our website: immerseinteractive.com/shop

It's a bit like Wordpress for creating virtual environments with Unity.

New users can quickly bring their projects to life without writing a single line of code, while advanced users can take advantage of our improved input handling, Actions, and fully programmable API.

With Immerse, we’ve put some of the best minds in Unity to work improving what you can do with Unity and solving common problems that all projects face. You can use our expertise to save potentially thousands of dollars and months of time that would otherwise be spent building these same elements from scratch.

Within minutes, you can easily drag and drop prefab Interactive Elements into your scene, then choose from a variety of available Action Elements. Finally, you can decide which of the Immerse Navigation systems you want to use to make it easy for users to find their way around your environment. Everything is well documented, customizable, and designed to work with your other existing tools and assets. Immerse isn’t a system that replaces what you’re already doing – it augments it with new tools and building blocks.

With Immerse you can add interactivity to your project, introduce actions that bring your scenes to life, and quick and easy add navigation options for users.

    Interactive Elements:

First, you set up the elements in your scene users will interact with, and select from a variety of methods for them to interact. For example, you can set up a Main Menu, Scene Buttons, Trigger Zones, and turn any object in your scene into a button. They can click with a mouse or XBox controller, or in VR mode they can use their gaze to interact with the scene.

    Action Elements:

With your interactive elements established, now you can load them up with Immerse Actions that bring the scene to life. A few examples of Immerse Actions include swapping materials or colors, managing animations, managing sounds, alternate between different design solutions, turn lights or layers of content on or off and a lot more.

    Navigation:

Finally, Immerse provides a variety of navigation options that enable users to explore your environment in an easy and intuitive way. Navigation options include: Warp (jumping to another position in a scene), Look to Teleport, Jump to Scene, Comfort Mode, Orbit Cam, Automated / Guided Tour, Dollhouse View and more.

    VR and non-VR Mode:
Immerse Framework was designed from the beginning to work with VR, but it can also be used to create non-VR applications that can run on any PC and soon directly embedded in web browsers. Best of all, your applications built with Immerse can easily be toggled between VR and non-VR versions, and all of your UI and interactions will work both places.

    Immerse Multi-User:

We’ve also developed a multi-player platform for both VR and non-VR applications, that integrates seamlessly with the Immerse Framework. Immerse Multi-User is a white label solution designed to provide a secure, private multi-user resource for your project.

    Immerse Asset Library:

We’re also developing a library of triple-A quality 3D assets, prepared specifically around Unity’s PBR (or physically-based rendering) system to achieve the greatest realism. While the Unity Asset Store has many fantasy or sci-fi assets, everyday items and those specific to medicine, technology, and other fields are hard to come by. Luckily, we have in-house talent and expertise in creating 3D models for a variety of fields.

    Compatibility:
While Immerse will likely work fine in a wide range of platforms, we have currently tested and confirmed compatibility with PC standalone and Oculus Rift DK2 (SDK 0.6.0) with Unity 5.

    Feature Requests:
If there is additional functionality you would like to see included in the Immerse Framework, or how it could be improved, we’re open to any suggestions or ideas! We’re all about community, and we hope to grow Immerse Framework into a comprehensive toolkit developers can use to take their projects to the next level.

A *huge* special thanks to Julien Lynge, lead developer who made Immerse what it is today.

See you on the virtual frontier!

We have a new beta demo that includes some examples of Immerse Framework functionality. This demo focuses mainly focused on architectural visualization, but Immerse can be used for just about anything you're building with Unity.

This is a PC build for Oculus Rift DK2, 0.6.0, and requires Oculus' minimum PC spec to run optimally. Please read the full blog post to learn more, and let us know if you find any bugs! We're eager to hear your feedback!

    Here's the link: [DEMO DOWNLOAD].

Immerse Framework Beta 4 is now available! Learn more about this month's releas here:
    https://www.immerseinteractive.com/immerse-framework-beta-4-now-available/

    Or, subscribe here: http://www.immerseinteractive.com/shop/

We have an impressive batch of updates and goodies coming to Immerse Framework with this month’s new release!

    Immerse Quality Manager
Immerse Framework subscribers can download this month’s giveaway, an invaluable Immerse Quality Managersystem, ideal for optimizing performance for VR applications with large, complex environments. Limit the number of lights and objects in your scene, grouping them by tag and turned off by distance, max count, or both. You can also configure quality settings to automatically adjust based on framerate, so your application can sacrifice quality to maintain smooth performance.

    Immerse Configurator
In case you missed it, last month’s giveaway was the Immerse Configurator system that allows you to change the texture, color or material of objects in your scene.

Drag and drop these configurator widgets into your project, then easily assign the materials, textures or colors you wish to choose from, specified by layers, tags or objects.

    Immerse Collaborative

We’re also looking for alpha testers for our new Immerse Collaborative multi-player system. Immerse Framework subscribers can gain access to this simple and easy to use multi-player plugin for Unity.

    Immerse Assets
Finally, stay tuned this month for a lot more Immerse Assets to be posted to the Unity Asset Store. We hope to have the entire residential condo approved and available soon. Next up, we’ll be posting triple-A quality medical, industrial and office environment prop assets in the months ahead.

Immerse Framework’s March update introduces GearVR compatibility

Since we launched Immerse Framework, the most commonly requested feature - by far - has been compatibility with GearVR. With our March update, we’re proud to announce that we’ve made it happen.

    What is Immerse?
Immerse Framework is a toolset building blocks that lets you quickly and easily create VR applications with Unity, providing a wide variety of options for navigating and interacting within your scene.

Immerse reduces development time and cost by enabling you to focus on building your content, rather than spending time having to develop these common functions from scratch.

What does Immerse bring to Gear VR?
Immerse VR takes care of input from the Gear VR touchpad. You can easily assign taps and swipes to any of the Immerse Framework Actions, such as Jump to Target, Play Audio, Toggle Visibility, Swap Alternates, Play Animations, and more. You can even combine Immerse Actions into a single interaction, or arrange them in a timed sequence.

    Additional Compatibility
Immerse is also compatible with Oculus Rift, and will soon be introducing compatibility with HTC Vive and Google Cardboard.

You can learn more about Immerse by visiting our website: https://www.immerseinteractive.com/immerse-framework/ and by watching our Tutorial Videos here: https://www.immerseinteractive.com/tutorial-videos/

    Thanks!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They charged a very high "sign up" fee and then canceled the product before it even got out of beta, and left it with a ton of bugs. Now they are launching a "new" product... They also NEVER provided most of what they list here as being included.

    Hi VicToMeyeZR

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We did opt to discontinue selling Immerse Framework to new subscribers, and suspended further payments from subscribers.

However, we have been actively honoring our commitment to support the product, responding to any issues quickly, and have provided Immerse Beta 6 to subscribers at no cost. All future updates, along with early access to Immerse Creator, will also come at no cost to subscribers.

Sorry again for the inconvenience. Please give me a call anytime if you'd like to discuss this further.

You should really check with your colleague who signed up for Immerse since you're not the subscriber. He's receiving the emails with updated access to Immerse Beta 6, and will continue to receive further updates.

We always tried to be as responsive as possible to any issues, and in reviewing our correspondences, and we did offer live screenshare support to your team as well.

I do feel bad about the issues you had with our payment system. We didn't find a solution until it had already been a hassle. I was quick to refund any month where an issue occurred, but it shouldn't have happened.

Please trust that it really was only ever my most sincere intention to offer genuine value and to seek innovation and efficiencies with the tools we were building. Developing software has been a huge learning curve for me, coming from a background in architecture, but I continue to believe there are so many ways these technologies can revolutionize this industry and many others. We gave it our best shot building a toolset to help developers build amazing applications, but it just wasn't the right mix. I think we got a lot right with it, but there's a lot we could have done better. We invested tens of thousands of dollars of our personal savings building Immerse Framework, and have learned so much along the way.

I do hope that our ongoing, free of charge, support of Immerse Framework continues to add value to your company though. I think if you can sync up with your other team member who originally subscribed and get the latest download, you'll find there's a lot of goodies in there that you might find useful. As always, if you have any questions or issues, send them over and we'll figure it.
