how to create an object from an other

    hi there!
    i have to make a box from a simple object which is that white line

    when the square is done the cross is made automatically
    I want a solution that tests the formation of the square .
    my question is :

    is it possible to create that box as an object from 4 lines ?
    if no ,help me with other ideas please.
