Namaste folks! We are Dharma Games, an indie dev team from Serbia and we are curently working on our first project Hatchet.

It˙s a singleplayer stealth-action game influenced by Cyberpunk genre, set in the year 2036 where you are playing a role of main character Jiro Azzaki who works as a hitman.

Through the different types of levels and targets, you˙ll be able to upgrade your skills in combat, stealth and hacking which simplifies and extends gameplay by using specialized gadgets or doing actions faster. Plot is also a vital aspect of the Hatchet, so you˙ll have to pay attention to your own choices. We are expecting Hatchet to be on Steam in the second half of 2017, but we won’t be able to achieve this goal without your partaking.

The characters seem to be made of plaster, reminds me of the plaster splicers in Bioshock 1, love it!

Hey well done guys, the game looks great so far! How many of you are working on this?

Question on the gameplay video, are the vision cones for debugging or will they be always be visible?
I kind of like how they show you exactly where the enemies can see so there's no confusion there.
So many stealth games are ambiguous in this area and it gets really frustrating.
For example, an enemy can see you when you thought you were completely hidden, and other times where they can't see you and you're right in front of them.

Thanks Serinx! Six of us are working on Hatchet.
No, the vision cones aren't here for debugging. We want to give precise information to the player so there is no ambiguity on whether you're seen or not. However the exact design of view cones is likely to change. We're currently trying to find a sweet spot between showing enough information and too much information.

Seems like a Rambo approach of just shooting all the bad guys will be the easiest approach to this game. How are you incentivizing stealth gameplay?
BTW - the game is looking nice.

Hi mate! We're currently in the process of integration of our new AI system, which should make enemies smarter and harder. Also, level design will make stealth first option you think of. We're not trying to discourage players from 'Rambo'ing through level, but we want to make it a challenge, not the default way of playing.
One more thing, in a couple of testings we had, it came up that stealth is something players either start off with, or go back to it. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Looks really good! Take your time with this game! About the last gameplay video, in my opinion the colors are a bit too dull, I don't really like the green-brownish colors.

REALLY nice dark aesthetic, I like that players have a sort of "blueprint" perspective of the buildings.

Thanks Evamariah! We are all metalheads, thats why aesthetic is dark :D
Perspective was first thing defined in Hatchet :)
All the other mechanics were designed in accordance with perspective.
