    Hm, it says I need to install the unity webplayer plugin but I already have it installed. I even re-installed it and it's still not working...

    The only car that is available atm is the ford probe. It's the greenish color car. When you get to it, there's a GUIText that reads "Green". Click it. It's a trigger that selects the car. :)

    1) its too hard to get into the game...way too much guessing going on. Make it clear on what to do...even if its a development build.
    This includes the title page...you have buttons without text. Also, if only 1 car works, then dont allow the users to select the other cars.
    2) there are no instructions, so i dont know what I'm supposed to be doing, or what buttons do what.
    3) the engine sounds are way too loud
    4) update the first post in this thread with the current link for the web player.
    5) why is the camera so low?

    1.) I'll post up instructions on the main screen. I have no idea why the other buttons do not show the actual button. The Standalone buttons(those 3 that dont show good in the webplayer) dont show up at all. Any ideas?

    I'm guessing you're busy fixing things? I also don't see three of the button's text. The first button does nothing (I assume this is to play the game), the cars show on the second button, but I can't select. Options don't change screen size from what I see, but making games isn't easy! Good luck!!

    Thanks. There's problems with buttons.

    Button order:


    • 1. Single Player - does nothing as of now. It's just there, lol.

    • 2. Free Roam - Select the GREEN car, by clicking GREEN when you see it.
    • 3. Options - You know what that is..
    • 4. Multiplayer - not implemented yet.
    • 5. Exit - only for the standalone version. ;)

    I'm also still working on the screen resolution's list. ;)

    That sucks man, you guys we're really polishing the look of this. I'm knee deep in my own project that is similar right now, but I am working on this one alone. I am not a programmer either so my efforts for scripting a lap system, scripting a working speedometer are going kind of slow. I'll get there eventually. Oh by the way, I didn't understand all the harrassment about the car polygon count. If these people knew anything about racing games they would know Gran Turismo HD vehicles were like 200K triangles....Forza 3 are like 70K triangles...and on and on.

    We decided not to cancel it. We just renamed the team to Wrecking Interactive. We just need to buy Unity Pro now.. That's gonna be a bit hard, lol. If you need any help on yours, I'll be happy to help. :) I didn't understand the harassing of the poly count either. 30k is really not a lot?

    Took this shot this morning. Improved city lighting, better car physics. Did some more of the car. :)

    Went on over and gave you a like on the page...I'm all about supporting fellow devs, especially in the realm of car racing. I worked at a car racing game studio down in FL for 2 years so I have an affinity for the genre. I'll help out where I can if you have some unsolveable issues. I have some free models on my Facebook page as well, it's in my signature on here. They are really models geared towards racing game environment stuff so they might help. :)

    I think the first Speedo looked much better. The second looks tacky. Just make the text white with a black glow, so you can see it on all backgrounds.

    We have added 2 new ones: Billboard advertising! And... Make a car! We have added so that you can pick a vehicle to base our cars off of! :)

    We have also lowered the prices of each ones already there! Including lowering the Graffiti Name from 75 dollars to 10 dollars! :D

    And lowered the district one to 100 dollars. We really need the money. Thanks for helping!!


    We ave also made a PDF Strategy Guide with hints, tips, shortcuts, city maps, etc! Get it before it runs out!

    Seriously though, people aren't going to pledge if you don't offer physical goods like t-shirts, boxed copies of the games or posters.

    Also, the camera being glued to the car like that doesn't look very good. The mouselook from the earlier build or even the smooth follow script would probably work better.

    1. I will offer a CD version of the game as a friend of mine has already designed a box cover. :) It has been added. It'll be an exclusive one, as we do not plan to sell the game on a Cd, only digitally. So, I hope this works better! ;) I have also added some more info on the game and pictures in the text. :)

    2. I know. That was just for testing purposes and it will use the smooth follow camera later in development. :)

    Instructions on playing: Only use the Blue Regency car as it is the only car I have edited with the new physics!!

    Please comment on the BLUE Regency's physics. :)

    Please do not comment on any other car's physics, as they use the old physics that I haven't reworked yet. ;)

    I like the physics, they feel almost like something out of a GTA game. However, the control feels very sluggish. I'd suggest raising the acceleration speed, it's really hard to manouver because it starts off so slowly.

    Also, I recall seeing many more detailed buildings and such in a much earlier build of the game. I also recall seeing traffic. where did that go? Are the detailed buildings in a different part of town?

    The city is being completely redone now.

    Some progress pics. Modeled in sketchup 8 Pro.

    It's going to be a lot better and a lot more detailed buildings. ;) So, don't fret. :)

    How so Hippo? The car is on the selection screen. But the model isn't, you can just see the name and the colors. Press the right arrow at the top.

    What have you done to it.... :O Agreeing with Hippocoder. The physics were fine beofre, now they are horrible. Also, the camera is backwards.

    Uhmm. Like in every pc racing game, press C to change the camera dude..

    Did you use the navy blue Regency? All other ones except that suck..

    The car is really slow now, though. It's really unsatisfying and frustrating to drive when the acceleration takes so long.

    I did. The camera was either front bumper, or 3rd person backwards.
    And yes, I did use the navy blue regency.

    I thought so at first, too. Just keep tapping c and it'll work eventually.


    The other controls are much quicker and easier to use. Hitting a wall with these controls makes the car lose all speed and you have to back out which takes really long because it accelerates so slowly. Trying to do something precise like parking is nearly impossible because at slow speeds you can hardly turn and it takes about ten seconds before you get up to a decent speed. The car feels like it's much slower than the previous one and since you loose speed when you turn it feels like an uphill struggle to keep a high speed going. You have a good start, but it needs a lot of tweaking.

    Because, Now please don't take this as rude (I have a habit of offending people by being blunt and people are concerned I have AS half the time *eye roll*).
    To be honest, It's too early to put it on there. It needs to be near finished- and I mean FINSISHED, not just a working prototype. It has to be the best you can possibly make it, and then the funding can be used to add the final touches.

    That's all, I think. It's just not quite ready yet.

    also would appreciate just having it "work" instead of having to hit C several times or whatever, have the code just spawn the blue car instead of pointless menus with broken content. it should be trivial to do it in less than half an hour.

    Finally an update from us. Here is a preview of the new city beginnings. The models and textures are all AAA now. Modeled in Google Sketchup 8 by Bryan Vos. :)
