fatal error! failed to initialize unity graphics

I try to launch unity 4 and show this error:

"fatal error!
failed to initialize unity graphics."

please help me.

 

What Operating System are you running?
Do you have a video card installed, up to date drivers? DirectX9+?

I had this issue when trying to run Unity on my server without a video card, I fixed the problem with a video card then it worked (even without drivers but alot better with them)

 

Having the same problem. Did you get it to work? If so, what did you have to do? I have a video card and up-to-date drivers and I'm having this problem.

As refer to the replies above, I check my desktop is running windows 7 with Directx11 and with a video card (Standard VGA Graphics Adapter).

Same issue here as well

 

same here, installed latest drivers and run dxdiag d3d acceleration is active.

 

no d3d hw acceleration error even though dxdiag says I have my d3d acceleration active on my HD 4000.

I do have the same problem windows 7 installed video card but fails to load garphics and DirectX11 as well

 

I know this is an old one, but just in case anyone is looking for a solution:
If Unity used to work for you and you just gor this error, try restarting your computer. That did the trick for me.

 

I have same problem, just installed unity. Have an Asus Gaming PC.

I had same problem. I pulled out my main video card (Titan X) and I tried use integrated card. I got the same error that's all. I checked the settings of Direct X (use Run and enter "dxdiag", it work at Windows 7, I think it don't work on greater OS), and I saw that my Direct3D Acceleration is disabled. I checked my drivers and found that they basic (the ones that come with the operating system). I download new drivers for my motherboard integrated video card, installed it and reboot. Then I checked Direct3D Acceleration again and it's was enabled. Since then I don't having this problem. May be it's helps somebody in the future

This kind of error message happens when your gpu is missing proper drivers. In my case, it happens because my gpu is dead.

Here is a possible solution if anyone is still having this issue:
1. Run dxdiag
2. Check Display/Render tabs for DirectX Features
3. Direct3D Acceleration should be Enabled. If it is Not Available, then there is a problem with the graphics driver
4. Install older graphics driver

I guess most users here are computer savvy so I am not getting into details on how to do it step-by-step.
However, if anyone needs a more detailed explanation just drop me a message and I will try to walk you through it.
