    So I'm making some decent progress now
    They charge up after a while and destroy everything on the screen
    However for some strange reason after they blow up a billion asteroids start spawning
    Yeah I dunno

    Okay, I've got it all fixed :D
    So essentially asteroids spawned through the debug menu weren't actually incrementing the global asteroid count, and since that is used to define spawn rates, negative asteroid counts had very high spawn rates :p

    Might try to record a video later today, but no promises. On laptop

    It looks pretty good, I think it would look better if the particles looked less cloudy and more like fire or something. Having a texture animation would make it look alot nicer. Also more explosion of particles when it explodes would be good too, being able to tell its about to explode would be nice (to me it seemed it just exploded for no reason other than why not? ;)).

    The idea and mechanics are great though, the art just needs a bit of polishing! Looking forward to more! :)

    Got the instructions entry done as well as making some slight tweaks to the particle effects. Still need to do the pic but its progress

    I'll be honest guys
    I want to work on the game but I just dont have any inspiration or motivation
    Like the only things I can think of to work on is stuff like bosses which im just not motivated to do right now
    If anyone has any ideas im all ears, but sorry about things being so slow lately

    When I burn out I tend to watch some inspirational movies and such. Just stuff like things that inspired me or things I like, I often get ideas and motivation from random things. :)

    Okay just added another ability, time slow!
    It is by no means finished, is buggy as hell, needs polish and balancing etc but its working :)

    I've decided it's probably best i work on some polish for now instead of raw content. What do you guys think is biggest in need of some polish?

    I just played the most recent build with my controller and one of the axis's were backwards (so a bit harder than it should have been to play). Anyways maybe having an input manager in the game.

    Hey which one is it? Vertical? I should have it fixed up for tomorrow if you want to try it again then :)
    Yeah its something i have on my todo list, not sure how i want to implement it though

    Works like a charm! The games alot of fun with a controller, you should really pick one up, mine only cost $10 off amazon so there not super expensive.

    Anyways here are my thoughts on the game:
    -The game mechanics are very solid. The controls are smooth the art is great and the game feels very polished. Overall it was alot of fun to play and is also quite a good challenge (I was pretty terrible at it :p but I loved the difficulty, if it was easier I wouldn't have kept playing so long).
    -The biggest thing I saw was that the backround was a bit dull, the colors were there but maybe heighten the contrast a bit? I understand that you don't want to confuse the player but I think it could be done in a way to makes it look sharper.
    -Maybe a backup animation/thing for the ship. Have some small boosters backing you up?
    -Maybe add some customization? Even something that doesn't effect gameplay like ship colors/bullet colors would be nice.
    -Another thing to think about would be slightly scrolling the backround or maybe have some star particle effects moving around.

    Overall it was alot of fun and something I will go back and play more, the game is looking really great! Great work on it so far! :)

    Awesome!! It really means a lot to me that you're enjoying it :)
    If I may ask, what level are you and what is your high score? Have you tried signing in with GameJolt?

    About all your points, I agree that the background is in need of some major work. It definitely needs some more life and movement, I just cant really decide on what would be the best way yet

    I also want to do a reverse thrust animation because it looks awkward without one, small boosters could work but i need to make sure it feels natural

    There will be some customisation. Im planning on eventually adding a shop where you can buy cosmetic changes (in game money, not IAP) which should make it more personalised

    I don't think I got very far, level 5ish and not more than 50000 as my highscore. And no I didn't sign in with gamejolt (I forgot my pw which I will need to dig up). I will play it more and let you know anything else! :)

    Awesome, you should have access to all the current abilities and power ups other than time slow
    as a reminder, self destruct is default E and uses 5EP

    I know I've been extremely quiet for the past month or so but I've just been too busy to work on it really. its not cancelled or postponed or anything, I just dont have time

    This morning however I did add SFX for time slow, so you can check that out if you wish :)

    Anyone who has actually gotten to the final phase of the supermove will know that there was a horrible lag spike. The effect has been completely redone and it is now far more efficient, give it a try!

    Hey everyone, still developing, dont worry its not cancelled :)

    Currently im adding a texture quality setting, its all done but i need a way to exclude UI elements. tried disablimg Mip Maps but then they look bad, any ideas?

    Hey everyone, time for another dev update :)

    First off i've added a version number to the bottom left corner of the screen. this will also notify you if a new version of the game is currently available

    Second of all, I've been redoing the Detonate ability. It uses to have a range of 7+-10%, meaning it was pretty much fixed. I've redone this so its much more interesting, but also far more powerful

    It's now (15/Sqrt(AsteroidDamage))+-10%. to explain this, on average the radius is far bigger than before, buffing it, however its not equal. more powerful asteroids need to be closer to the detonation to be destroyed.
    In addition to this, asteroids too far out will still have a slight push based on how close they are

    And finally, the new effect! I've combined the old one with a distortion shockwave

    Some more development to report on :)

    Detonate now affects Oculus Impetus, dealing 16/x^0.8 damage to each Totem / the eye, where x is the distance :)

    After I sort out all the stuff on my current To Do list I'd like to add more achievements. There's currently 9 but I'd like to get it into the state where there are loads and you can take joy in 100%ing the game, does anybody have any ideas?

    The current Achievements are
    Survivor I,II,III,X
    Empowered I,II,III,X
    and It's Over 9000

    Got some more development to report on :)
    On the backend i've been working on automating the Datalog system some more, so that I can start adding proper entries for the abilities; usually i use a picture in the entry, for abilities should i create icons for each one?
    I've also been adding sound effects to the menus, and well, its a bit hit and miss. I feel like theyre good but theyre full of problems

    The icons all look really good, they match well with each other and the game. They also do a good job showing the player what they do. Nice work! :)

    Hi all, I was wondering what you would think about a various few ideas I had floating around

    Boss HUD
    This would be a modified version of the player HUD. it would be inverted, in the top right corner of the screen. All the shiny silver metal will be a dark black blasted steel, but with a bit of colour alteration on a per boss basis. The middle bar will be a HP bar coupled with a numerical display, either green or red. the bottom bar will be removed and the top bar may be redesigned to house ??? or the name of the boss (dependant on whether the boss has been beaten yet or not.) the lives counter will have a little icon of the boss

    Game over.
    Instead of switching straight to the game over screen, it will first have some kind of slowing down blurring transition. a gameover sign will then fade onto the screen, before moving out the way as the actual game over screen comes into place. the game over screen will also be completely done :p
