Any YouTube Tutorials or other online resources on how to make a 'Theme Hospital' game?

I'd love to make a project for my kids (and ok...for myself too!!!) that works similar to the old Theme Hospital game. Does anyone have any recommendations on tutorials that explains how I could go about making such a game? I'm keen to learn how to have the progression + events + NPC AI + time management + building aspects can be brought together to create an interesting game concept.
