    I'm on macOS 10.12, but I'll try to install 5.4.2 on my other OS X 10.11 Mac. Maybe it's OS…

    What is the status on the mesh skinning performance these days? Any benchmarks or fixes since this report of 2x slower skinning?

    Edit: In a quick check between 5.3.3p3 and 5.4.1p4 on our project, I can confirm 5.4 being meaningfully slower, taking around 0.6 ms where 5.3 takes around 0.22 ms for MeshSkinning.Update idling in the same scene, according to the profiler. So yeah, this is still an issue. Pretty scary!

    Unity removed 5.4.2?

    Should I be worried? Should I go back to 5.4.1?

    Apparently yes. You'll have to go back to an earlier version of your projects too.

    We pulled 5.4.2 because of an issue that affects clean installs on Windows (i.e. new users). If you already downloaded and installed it and it's working for you, feel free to carry on using it. We'll have a replacement build up ASAP.

    The same issue people who do not have a previous version installed, have when they install a beta version?

    I have reported this 5.4 mesh skinning performance regression as bug #843587.

    I think so, yes.

    We've got a new build ready internally, it's just going through QA. We're expecting to publish it in the morning (UK time).

    I suspect it has to do with the 5.4 multi-threading changes, actually. A machine with a Xeon processor (24 cores) got much more slowdown than one with a quad core. There was a similar camera culling performance regression from 5.4 that hit the Xeon machine much harder than the quad-core. And we know that 5.4 does change some internal multi-threading behaviors, so... that's my hypothesis.

    I have Unity 5.4.2f1, and I can't seem to log in. I am currently in a group project and we are using Unity Collaborate to transfer files, but I cannot use it because I cannot log in. Every time I try to log in using my Unity credentials, I get stuck in an infinite loop on the log in screen.

    UPDATE: If I try to log in within the Editor itself, it proceeds as if the login was successful when it really wasn't.
