5.4.2f2 still crashing

Today i download 5.4.2.f and when i try to change buid target ant try to build unity crash, its not new bug, and appears two months ago, im very upset because im hoping it solves on new release but not.
This bug makes unity unusable at all.

Im not a windoes user, and dont want to be one, im paying pro licence but now i change my mind about that.

 

Which distro are you using? Have you checked the editor log if it logs the problem?

5.4.3f1 Same crash

 

This is a crash inside Gtk - do you experience the same thing when going to e.g. File->OpenScene?

 

No, only happens when try to build.

 

5.5.0.f3 Exact same problem, the last build without this problem its 5.5.0.b1
no bug report window lanched on crash on this release.

Im using Debian Jessie

If its not unity problem, please give a light, its totally useless unity on linux right now, and have not any help here

 

Jesus man put the logs in code brackets or something this thread is unreadable on a mobile device.

I had a build issue with 5.5 on ubuntu. Upgrading to 5.6 fixed it for me and another poster.

I'll be honest I've never had an issue with unity until the last month. Suddenly npm is wrong, updade it then make won't work. So update to 5.6, and it started to work, with an old npm... I'd check out this npm issue, unity look they are looking into a fix in the thread.

 

I update npm and follow instructions to fix gray screen, anyway it still crashing when i try to build on any platform

I'll be honest this looks like exactly the same issue I had. Grey screen, update gtk, Nmp etc unity works. But build crashes unity? I think this is what you're saying?
I've fixed it but I'm not really sure how. I switch npm versions, gtk version. I thend did a fresh lubuntu build ( had to hard drive fail ) unity 5.5 same build crash issue. So tried 5.6 and with lubuntu 15.04 and it worked.
There also seems to be some people with windows reporting this sort of issue, so I think it's something I unity's end

Edit should add I installed amd drivers from their site not the ubuntu repo ones

Really i dont know, but at last i install ubuntu and looks like works fine there. im sorry about debian.

 

This is somewhat disheartening. Having the same issue here, also on Debian 8. Tried Unity 5.5.0p1 and 5.6.0b3. In both cases the editor just crashes whenever I try to build, regardless of build target. Editor log from 5.5 attached, pretty much the same picture as seyacat's.
