Hey folks, I thought I'd give you a heads up that we have yet another Unity-authored game live on shockwave.com!
Epic Tower Defense
For those few of you that stopped by our booth at the Austin GDC event, this was the game we had on display with the developer lingering around the booth. He's not much of a forum poster but some may recognize the name from the Unity 2 beta program: Jon Frisby of mrjoy.com.
Some may also recognize him as the guy that Garage Games had at WWDC to talk about Torque! w00t! Yes, he shelved Torque, picked up Unity and now has a released title all in a little over 4 months! Kudos Jon!

cool - these games are great time killers ; )
one suggestion - i think its a bit too hard right from beginning. you don't have enough time to build up your defenses & strategize. one thing that adds to the issue is there's not alot of distance for the enemies to cover before you're losing lives (i understand you can use the blockers to try & keep them near your turrets for as long as possible but with the little amount of gold you get there's no room for error - that's ok for hard levels but its kinda harsh for level 1 easy ; )

| @drJones: You can place towers before you hit "Start Game", so you have all the time in the world to prepare. You can also pause the game and build towers at your leisure.

| Congrats, Jon. Why the name change? was it just to get the "tower defense" in there? I liked When Orcs Attack!

Different branding for different channels. You can probably expect to see the game show up under a few different names yet...

This is pretty cool and not what I expected at first glance. I didn't know you could place towers before the start and during pause (good tip!). I got my butt whipped a few times until I got better at quick building and was finally able to get through level 1. Here is the course I built to do it... (For me the key was the nuke right at the gate. That gave lots of time to collect gold.)
Anyway, good work on it MrJoy!

Why the hell do you post such stuff? It kept me from working for almost 2 hours before i could pull myself out Its a load of fun and quite good looking too!
Has the fire tower some reload time? They sometimes dont fire for a complete wave wich is really nasty in beginning levels where you only have one of these fire towers... it also happens to the lightning towers as well.
Keep up the great work!

Um... each tower has an Orc that is immune to it - so it won't fire at it.

| @VICTOM: Actually, that's not QUITE true. No enemy is immune or resistant to arrow towers, making them a bit more versatile, despite their general weakness.

Why Tom, I didn't notice anything special?
Once again Jon, nice work! And sorry to the rest of y'all for posting about a nice way to kill some time (ok, not really).

| Nice job on this, the only problem I found is sometimes clicking on a tower in the palette would fail to select it, wasting time and frustrating me.

yes i did figure that out when i played again - though i didn't notice the pause & build ability, that's a nice feature.
i did start faring better once i got the hang of it (just had to break myself of my onslaught playing habits i think ; )
its a fun game - i wonder why there aren't tons of people playing it yet.

Congratulations!
very nice
Unfortunatly GravBall wasn't "fit" for the shockwave audience... I'll give it another shot in the future.
