I've added a few more bad guys to the lineup. The two newest types are necromancer and scarecrow!

Was able to get 3 new enemies done today, although one is just a combination of existing pieces.

Did a low poly axe for my game with meh textures. 512x512 for the rock and 256x256 for the handle. Had to scale the handle one down though, so it's technically like 64x64, and like 128x128 for the rock.

Lighting is a little dark, but at the time I'm posting this I'm learning raycasting for cutting down trees with this badboy; so I really just made it for a temporary model until I get the time to spend quite a long time on the actual model and have time to texture it properly. The texture also has some tiling issues, too...glad this is temp and not permanent.

@Mister D Really good model! but antislash is right, the helmet needs more polys, and the boots are a bit "faceted" specially the front parts

Playing around with a bunch of different stuff in my project. Currently trying to make some grass to fit the style of my game.

Edit: Making a main menu scene from some assets laying around. I'm not a level designer but it looks ok for now.

Would you be able to point me to any rigging tutorials?(unless it's not Blender) Because all the ones I have watched are either difficult or don't explain it well enough; sometimes I'm also using a newer version. Fine if you can't, but just wondering because you're so good at modelling and animating. Really like the gun, the walking animation is fluid, too.

tnx for the compliments, i use cinema4d for rigging and animating(actually i use it for almost everything ;) ) i ve always found the blender interface to confusing. im actually a 2d animator but ive learned 3d completely on my own. the best thing is to find a good book about the software as reference so u can follow it at your own pace and then its a process of trial and error, especially in the beginning. the key is to do some simple tests and see how everything works. also think about wich software u want to use before u start. blender is tempting cause its free but try some trials or demos of other software and see wich one u can grasp the easiest. its not always about expert features in my opinion but more about layout and functionality. hope this helps whiteleaf

    edit ,
an example of a good animation book as a basis is the "animators survival kit" by richard williams

Huh, I really like the fact that you acknowledged the free modeling programs, never thought about that. I was always took Blender because of it's freeware, but never looked into anything like C4D, Maya, or 3DS Max. Guess I'll have to try that out. Blender is quite confusing, at least the layout. Probably gonna look into C4D or Maya. Thanks for the tips!

The lighting looks great, the lava-orange-glowing thingy in his chest is a really nice feature. What's up with the white outline, though?

Didn't notice the white outline until now, I think it has something to do with the antialiasing or something, camera has 4 effects applied, Bloom, Antialiasing, vignetting and color correction, and maybe the antialiasign is too strong...

Not sure. I haven't played with too many of the image effects in Unity 5. Might be it, though.

Been experimenting with a few hand painted texture styles. Went with a quite rough and obviously painted look for this one:

    Wood_Texture.jpg

Yes, it doesn't tile, but that was needed for this practice :p

Ultimately trying to decide on a style for some artwork for the asset store, so comments and criticisms welcome.

I dig the patterns. I think the contrast is a bit too dramatic for what I'd want my floor boards to be. Plus, if I needed it to be textured, I think the really light spots would make the pattern stick out quite a bit.

    Looks cool however! Nice work.

I think you're right about the contrast / light spots. Perhaps something more subtle would be better for less obvious repetition (not just in tiling, but asset repeating). On to the next attempt!

    Thanks!

I'm using an open source unity plugin that imports the .scml files and creates prefbs and untiy animations. Not everything is supported but it meets my needs :)

Does this mysterious plugin have a name? :p Did you use it for the animations in Staying Together?

Looking at trying some 2D character work in Unity, so trying to get a grasp of my options before I jump into anything.

Made a night vision effect in Unity 5, personal. Looked at some thread and apparently it wasn't possible in Unity 4 free; but in Unity 5 it was pretty straight forward. Noise, Grayscale, and Vignette image effect on the camera. Also can be toggled.

also found out that pro water can be imported and used in unity free, and has realtime reflections.

Decided to try and make a Vespa copy to use in a personal Unity project. The model's still very much a work in progress, but I'm quite happy with how it looks, as I've never modeled vehicles before.

Hehe, that's pretty cool. One thing though the cloth shirt and the rim around the hat's 'cloth' texture doesn't fit with the rest of the drawing. I think it has too much contrast.
