That's fantastic! Gotta be one of your best paintings yet :) great mood and depth. Awesome design for the robes too. I'd be tempted to add a touch more shadow underneath the feet to ground him some more.
    Keep up the good work!

Here's something I've been working on. It's a 2d puzzle platformer. It has a `prodigal son` kind of story to it. The main character at the moment is the little red rectangle, but will be something else eventually. The player can move and jump and attach to any surface at any angle, and all surfaces are curved spline-based procedural geometry. It's 2d physics based, and clever level design provides the main gameplay elements. I still have lots of level design to do. I aim to have no flat edges anywhere, as part of the art style. Also am not totally set on the red/white scheme yet, I might add some gradients or some additional colors.

This is cool! Would like nice if you procedurally filled the shapes in like in Tiny Wings.

Yeah. For example, some shapes would have the edges look grassy, and on the inside they become more earthy. Others might be arid and so on. Then have decorative doodads like fossils (or whatever) randomly selected to mix things up a bit.

@EpicLilg Nice! Be even nicer without the pixelated shadows though :p

I actually like the pixelated shadows(for certain situations), however ask and I shall probably provide.

I've got big wood! It's marcos' fault for all the hot girls he posts.

...Wait, that's a different subject. AHEM! Anyways, I've been working on tiles some.

I'm particularly proud of the planked wood tiles on the left, I think I did a reasonably good job with those, though they could use some more polish. The raw wood sucks less than it used to, and still needs more love out of me. I could use some tips on the raw wood tile.

@Asvarduil Those look much better than the first wooden ones! Good job :)

The raw wood looks good, but I'm not so sure rings work well on the top, especially when the tile goes to 2x2. Perhaps the wood grain along the top and more a bark-like texture down the side might work - more like a freshly cut 'lump of tree'.

The only change I'd make to the planked one is to swap the tile order of your blocks, so you end up the solid block at the top where it's lighter. Currently it's look a bit out of place when it tiles against the side of a taller section (like at the back in your screenshot)

Made lot's of gritty portraits for an RPG lately (which was a ton of fun btw.)
So I needed some kind of break from this work and made a quick one hour painting with more brightly colors.

Got the idea from Tokyo Disney Sea, where I went last week. It's more of a color and lighting study, inspired by Dice Tsusumi's work.

    Color-test.png

updated it with a slightly reworked version (some stuff bugged me)

So, one of the things with working on my tileset, is actually creating some stuff so that I can see what I still need to add.

Take for instance, this example house scene, which uses part of what I've created to this point.

    asvarduil-3d-tiles-6.png
I still have to make a roof shingle tile, and maybe a stone column tile that mimicks the look of an Ionic column wouldn't be a bad idea.

A cool thing to note about my tiles, is that by default they're 2x2 world units. Thus, when vertex-snapping them using Ctrl + Arrow Drag, you can get cool step effects like what you see at the front of the house. Additionally, the walls are slightly in-set from the wooden supports, though you can't see it well from this angle.

My Most recent thing/artwork I created. A render of "Onion Duck", a new original character of mine. I plan on creating a simple android game that looks something like my render in the next couple days.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted here... been working on a novel. And in my spare time, testing out some new shaders. I think I've reached the look I truly want for portfolio pieces and the like. Enjoy. (and yes, I had to separate the model a bit so you can see the shader clearly. Skin is being redone. Some of the gritty RPG portraits I talked about in my last post.
Usually I'm more the cartoon/manga type of guy, but really enjoy doing these more realistic portraits too :)

I am no artist, but I picked up a drawing tablet to get started on a project I have been planning for some time now, and this is the second drawing I have done on it, and the first piece of concept art for my game.

Feedback is always welcome! I am not very good with hair, but I would like to do several hairstyle variations on top of this. This is the art style I wish to do my entire game in.

@Bridin Thanks, but I consider an artist to be someone who can do these things from the top of their head, and have their own art style. I used a lot of references to create this, and spent about 4 hours on it.

I am simply a developer who is forced to try to be a one man team like many others out there.

I looked at your project, 100 Orcs, and it looks great!

No need to downplay your abilities :)
I think you drew a pretty decent zombie with style.

I just wouldn't make the outlines completely black. More like a very dark green with low saturation to match the zombie color palette. The bloody parts could be also a bit darker for my taste.

Practicing my Inkscape skills and made this little rpg icon set in a somewhat flat minimal style. It's not for any specific game or anything, I'll probably give it away or something. I'd love feedback on what could be improved.
