Thank ya! I built the character in Illustrator. All the shading and lighting was done in Photoshop.

Woah, that art style is beautiful. Where'd you get the inspiration for that, or did it just happen on it's own?

Testing equippable clothing meshes.. NOT PRETTY YET! (at all, haha, but I am making good progress). Really liking the way the model is looking, geometry-wise. He is about 1800 tri's. The textures are just placeholders, as is the poses/animations, so like I said it ain't pretty yet. But I feel like it is going to get there.

Cel shaded version looks even better than I hoped!

This is unity's toon shader.. which I believe is hated by mobile. Gonna have to buy a shader I guess unless you guys have a suggestion for a toon shader that looks great on IOS.

Thanks :) , and yeah, agreed.

I can't take credit for it, it's from that female animation pack that Kobold has on the Asset store, I just wanted to test the rig quickly :)

    Spent today tweaking the textures:

    Still WIP, but getting there.

I was bored so I decided to model an Assault Rifle from the Halo franchise( I LOVE Halo! ).

No texture, just a material. But I don't plan on using it in any games, well because copyright but I also have no use for it. Low poly and not too much detail, but I like the way it came out.

First time posting here on the forums!
I've been working on a character that I eventually want to submit it to the asset store. I'm also learning Unity as I go about the little project, so its taking me a little longer setting it all up. Any feedback is welcome=)

Thanks for spotting it! I had a play around with it, and whenever I make it bigger I keep thinking it needs to be smaller haha. I'll have a look at it again when my eyes are fresher I think, and maybe tweak it before I release the model.

    :)!

    Final beauty renders:

High res pics and a Marmoset Viewer (can we please add embedding these to the Unity forums?) can be found here:

As I have been away from the Forums for a fairly long while, I've also been away from art and development as a whole. It's been tough but life is just been too busy. I finally found time to get myself sat down and open up a program. I had recently installed Zbrush before heading away, with only an hour or two spent in it. I told myself I would make time for art, and so I did. My first sculpt in Zbrush, I think turned out fairly well(It's still about 90% done, I've yet to add the finishing touches). It's a weapon for a rather minor boss battle in my project. A big bandit named Big Badger(naturally). One of the main goals I set for myself was not to make a huge fuss, as the weapon is minor and is present in the game for a whole 10 minutes, if that. It's not a perfect model, nor is it the best looking. But considering It's been months since I've done any kind of digital art, I say kudos to me.

    Looks very realistic!
Would you be able to make animations for such a character?
Can I buy human meshes from you, do you have a male character(s)

    Thanks!

It's set up with a Mecanim humanoid rig, so any humanoid animations will work with it.

I've just submitted her to the Asset Store, so with a bit of luck you'll be able to soon! :) I don't have a recent male character available to sell at the moment, but I'll have to keep it in mind for my next project. I'm looking to start releasing more characters.

Maybe it's the lighting, but all the screenshots look really weird.
I think it's a good rule to never have completely black shadows. Try adding some ambient lighting or something.

Does the shader let you put in a translucency map? At the moment the SSS is very uniform. It'd be nicer if the nose and ears were more translucent than the forehead or brow, for example.

Out of all of the tutorials on YouTube, there was only 1 I understood about rigging in Blender. From this I have modeled, rigged, and animated my first character. I'm hoping to do more animating today and maybe try to improve the rig, as there are some problems with it right now, but for my first time I think this was awesome(for me, at least). Animation is a bit weird when walking but I'm very happy with it.

And just because I'm very happy with this, I'll even link the gentleman who taught me how to do it! Thanks BlenderSensei!
