Here's my latest progress. The roof top has electric 'Boxing ring' edges- just to stop you running off. Now time for enemies, and then a few more levels, then done!

sorry, but there are a few obvious issues. It's blocky design leads to the fact that you just used a side-dimension google reference image instead of multiple. The textures really only work on the side (from the reference image), so using more than one reference could fix these. Not trying to sound harsh, but ya gotta get some real textures in there.

lol i know most of that, actually this was my first attempt to make a gun, so wanted to simply see what i could do. i m not into texturing, so i just kinda slaped on the reference onto the model, to see how it would match. the main part was the modeling

The model itself was not bad, just a little square. Try beveling some sides and adding some depth, or even a turbo-smooth modifier could do the trick ;)

Pretty cool, though if needed you could remove quite a few lines from the model with outdoing harm.
Planning to make this available for sale on the Asset Store at any time?
I have Urban Pad but not really gotten into the workflow enough to use it.

    Hi,
I have posted a poll about the need of a new thread dedicated to game artists. If you feel so, please vote for or against.
    The thread is here.

    Nice work, but...

...the texture size on those assets is INSANE for the polycount. I would expect all of those assets to be on 256 textures at the very most. But you've given them 16x that.

Why the mobile spec props with the desktop spec textures?

Yes, the likes of urban Pad gave me the idea to try a much simpler, easy to use building creator (and one integrated into Unity).
I may well place it on the asset store in the future.

Reducing the number of lines might be possible, but windows are indented and it is a side effect of the generation process. Would require another processing step. I am interested to know what the models from UrbanPad and City Engine look like in comparison - how optimized do they turn out?

Yeah, not sure about the Urban Pad stuff as I haven't spent enough time in it to learn it.
If need be, I suppose the house could be exported and opened in Max for further editing.

Hehe, it's not hard, but maybe only for me... cuz I passed it many times :D
Now I'm thinking about add some more types of traps, doors (to find a key for pass) and maybe a timer, something like in mario :D

Things to collect! That go "bling!"...

Don't forget that as you playtest, you'll be an expert with 1000 hours of playing and the first level needs to only challenge the beginner, so make it easy enough for people to enjoy and love your game. Add difficulty as the level progresses or the levels progress, so the game matches the skill of the player, keeping up the challenge.

Thanx for your reply. Well i don't know where this asset can be used, for desktop 1024 is ok, but if u wan't to use it for iOS there will be no problem to resize textures to any size u need.

    Hellcaller,

Ouch! That license is pretty brutal. Single use license?

Well, if I handed in any model with those polycounts and those texture resolutions at work, I'd be shouted at and made to redo them at 256 or smaller.

Put them in a scene and turn on mipmap view, zoom out until a point where the geometry holds up as being decent. I bet they'll all be rendered bright blue.

Okay, here some of my current models for my FPS game. I apologize for the .png slowness

lets start with the lowpoly enemy....

crappy model for okay texturing....such a shame

Now for my weapons. It doesn't look very good in blender, but it atually looks pretty good in Unity. If you haven't noticed, they are more cartoony style.

Dargh!! I swear I can't get a good view, it looks weird from all angles.

Sorry but your style look very strange, for cartoon you should keep less details on textures, because your details are not that good also.
Sorry to be crude, but here are some examples :

But perhaps some people will ike your style ?

Tehwut: You've laid down a good foundation. Keep going. Like your kritter! Try getting the texture scale to blend a bit more and try sculpting an eye! I can see where you are going with the gun, but I think it needs a direction... either more defined, or more surreal. It seems a bit in the middle.

    Thanks for all your replies!
As for the creature, the first thing I noticed was the blending, which I am currently working on. Since it is lowpoly, I am still working on a Normal Map which includes the eye and extra details. The creature will be quite small in-game and that's whyl.
As for the weapon, it didn't turn out as well as I liked. It was supposed to look alot more menacing and darker, but I did little concept art. It was supposed to look reptiliain, hence the weird frills where the shells would come out of, but of course it didn't come out right.(message to all, well plannedconcept art is a good idea!)
As for the comments on the style, it is supposed to look kind of messy, with intense lighting and blotched textures. I will try to post a screenshot within Unity to get a better idea.

hey everyone, just looking at the awesome that is here in this forum... for some reason, I decided to switch gears for a second and design a new level element... for a wrestling ring... ooh yeah... here is the first foray into designing the ring. I still need to add the steps and padding on the turnbuckle...

Maybe a new project is under way, who knows... the proxy model and ring are build on real world size which was TOUGH to get right.

This ring is the Pro Size ring and I don't know if the rings in wrestling games seem bigger than the real world counter part... but we'll see what I build from this :)

Charlie, I'd be tempted to carry the theme through a bit more thoroughly. Have the blue bits be only rounded shapes derived from the original letter o and the red bits be only straight rectangles with a uniform width and variable length.

So for the e, have a blue curve and a red bar. For the l, have a red upright and a blue tail (which'd be a segment from the original blue circle). For the x, a blue s curve and a red bar for the opposite half... etc.

    Features:
-Lifes - if u lose all lifes u'll lose and play from the beginning.
-Timer - you must pass level in 3 min.
-You must collect all balls to complete map.
