Weird thing happens when I build my game

So I test my game in the editor and everything is fine. In the game, when the player dies, this text shows up

When I build the game and the player dies, the text does not show up. What's even weirder - or to me at least - is that after I build, when I test the game in the editor, the text doesn't show up after the player dies. I need to revert back to my previously saved scene to recover the working game. But once I build it, the builded scene and the scene in the editor does not function correctly anymore. Anyone know what's up?
