Possibly Unity understand that is better develop a better tool that Unreal instead shut up their own user community when talk about other engines.

Oh no, they always shut down Unreal threads, like religiously. They know it causes battles. And it already has with the current one.

Makes you really wonder what's gonna happen.

because Unreal threads get shut down nearly daily because it causes drama.

I think the latest one shows exactly why they usually shut them down. 11 pages, still going strong. If you define strong as "running furiously in circles"

Both of you, I know right, it's crazy, I don't even jump in the middle of which is better. Because it serves no point, people forget to think before they speak.

There is nothing that proves which is better (at least with Unity 5 vs UE4).
I'm sure even Unity 4 could compete.

People forget that it's the artist that makes things look good, yeah an engine does help.
But if you know HLSL or whatever it's called to make Shaders.
Then make your own Shader that competes with AAA.

The power is there, if you want to spend the time to make it happen.
Most the majority don't want to spend the time and expect it to be handed to them.
So to me it's the artist that defines what's good, not the engine (to a point).

    LMAO hahahaahah.

Exactly. Browse Steam Greenlight for a few minutes. You'll see the most horrendous programmer art you can imagine. Insanely low poly, no detail normal mapping, textures not scaled to real world dimensions, objects not scaled correctly in relation to one another. Nothing "out of the box" is going to fix that.

I reckon they've rewritten the Unity Game Engine in HTML5 and put it up free on the web.

Never actually done that, figured stuff green lighted was at least decent stuff lol.
I'll have to check it out one day.

But not today, working on my game, waiting on GDC then me = sleep lol.

Not stuff that's been greenlit, stuff that's trying to get that way.

I was referring mainly to the stuff that is trying to get green lit. Although, there have been several green lit titles that look atrocious. The most infamous being Air Control. If you don't want to browse, you can just subscribe to Jim Sterling on Youtube. He has a habit of picking out the worst offenders.

Some sign of licensing changes - good news for hobbyists/indies, it seems...

Team license now a standard part of Pro. Will finally get to give the asset cache server a try!

Just waiting to find out if it's still 'mobile devs pay triple for Pro'... Right now there still doesn't seem to be much reason for a mobile developer with Pro to upgrade. We've got Metal in 4.x now, and none of the new high-end graphical shininess is of any use to real-world mobile games (which need to run on iPhone 4S and mid-range Android devices)
