    It's been a long road but Unity UI is finally here in 4.6, it's something we're really proud of.

    4.6 doesn't just include UI, it also has x86 support for Android.

    You can download it from the usual place.
    Check release notes here.
    The beta forum has become the Unity UI forum, so post all your stuff regarding the new system in there.

    Learn about UI Open Source...yeah, I did say that.

    And finally, give the UI team a gigantic virtual hug.

    Congrats on the release!

    The email about 4.6 mentions metal for iOS 8, is this in this release or is this something that's coming?

    Where can we find the information on what version the latest releases are? I don't see it in "Release Notes".

    For now, I just want to know if this is 4.6.0f3, or an updated release.

    The complete version number in that amount of detail is in the about screen in the editor. This release is 4.6.0f3

    This I know; I have that version, and wanted to avoid downloading again if the final release wasn't newer. It would be preferable to see the full version number listed online.

    Congratulations!! Also loving it here, it's actually enabled me to get closer to being done because of the bug fixes and new UI.

    hi

    ive been trying without success to download 4.6 release for almost an hour, nothing but corrupt downloads, its like the connection closes before the download fully finishes.

    this happens to me all the time what i do is use firefox plugin to download while it does not match md5

    if possible please post MD5 so that i do not have to do it manually...

    thanks in advance!

    Actually, just to confuse matters, Rune and Tim are sitting in the wrong order according to the names in the caption. So I think that's Tim you're talking about. And no, I think it's by design ;)

    I have Unity 4.5.5f1 installed in a folder renamed "Unity 4.5.5f1". I then installed the Unity 6.0 dmg which installed into a "Unity" folder. Opening Unity from that folder opens Unity 4.5.5f1!

    I'm redownloading the 6.0 dmg to see if that fixes it (and if not, I'll uninstall 4.5.5f1 and install 6.0), but the link http://unity3d.com/unity/download/download-mac seems to be down. Once it's back up I'll keep you updated on progress.

    Thanks for the quick response! Looking forward to the new UI system (we're already happily using packing tags)!

    I downloaded UnitySetup-4.6.0.exe (MD5(.\UnitySetup-4.6.0.exe)= c7c67d185932c3989fa310535aca0415) and the installer said it was 4.6.0f3 (the same as RC3 from a few days ago). When I run Unity and look at Help | About Unity... It displays
    Version 4.6.0f3 (30840d631a27)
    Tue, 18 Nov 2014 16:00:34 GMT
    Branch: release/4.6/release

    Maybe it's the same as RC3?

    This release completely messes up all projects connected to the Asset Server! :-(

    After upgrading from 4.5.5 to 4.6.0, tons of old revisions re-appeared in the "Update" window. If you don't have any local changes (which usually never is the case in a normal working environment!), you can just hit "Update", Unity does essentially nothing (visibly), and then everything is clean again.

    However - if you have local changes, some or all of these changes appear as conflicts when trying to Update. So what to do? "Skip" does not help. "Discard My Changes" is not what you want, as it would erase all your local changes. The only way to go is "Ignore Server Changes" - but this has two major caveats:
    - first, if that project was not up-to-date BEFORE opening it for the first time in 4.6, you would "lose" all these server changes, as you would ignore those updates.
    - and secondly, while this approach does cleanup the "Update" window - all your local changes (except the "NEW" entries) now permanently vanished from your Commit list! This is an ancient Unity bug, and the only way to make your local files (that DO differ from the server version!) reappear in the Commit list is to reimport them. As there is no way of knowing WHICH files are actually changed locally, your only option is to REIMPORT ALL ASSETS. Well, we have about 6 active projects ranging from 0.5 to 10GB, often with several local copies (i.e., for various platforms), and we have 7 people with Pro licenses in our team. Reimporting all assets in all local project instances will take about 1.5 full work days (unless you happen to have an SSD, which will reduce that time to maybe 0.5 work days), so upgrading to 4.6 will cost us about 10 man-days of busy-waiting where we effectively cannot work on our projects!

    =======================================
    I strongly suggest that everybody working with the Unity Asset Server does NOT try to upgrade to 4.6 until these issues are resolved!
    =======================================

    I've actually seen this behavior a few times before, not even updating Unity. It happens very sporadically to me, and usually, it's easy to fix. But one time, I actually had to start a new project on the Asset Server to get my project properly version controlled again.

    I have one version controlled project that I'm moving through 4.5.5 to 4.6 ... so let's see if I run into that as well.
