When I open my animator and right click the any state to create a transition to a new animation state the option to create a transition does't display. The only options that are presented are Create State, Create Sub-State Machine and Copy current StateMachine. These are also the options that display when I click in the spaces between the states. Exact same issue for me on Ubuntu 14.04. It seems that the problem is that the right click is not propagating to the animation states and instead Unity just treats everything as the default right click for the Animator window (no matter where you click). Thanks so much for everything Unity team!

Considering the issue reported in this other thread: Mouse selection stuff offsetted by menubar?

Have any of you tried right-clicking just above/below the States that you're trying to make transitions from, just in case it's a similar offsetting problem in this case?

Doesn't appear to be offsetting, clicking above/below gives the same result.

Not sure if it's related, but I'm also having trouble adding behaviours to blend-trees in the animator. No scripts in the add behavior button, no keypresses register when I try to create a new one. If I force it by pasting into the field (with the mouse context menu), the script never executes on play, and disappears from the state shortly afterwards.

It's not related to mouse offsetting - we've found the cause of the issue, and it will be fixed in the next build.

Hi Tak, I saw I was using version 5.1, upgrading to version 5.4.0b fixed this.

I'm having the same bug using 2020.3.31f1 Build on Windows 10, any findings or workarounds about it? 6 laters must have been useful for something lmao

I have this problem using build 2020.3.31f1 on Windows 11. Right-clicking any of the already linked anims does not give me the "Make Transition" option. This only happens with already linked anims, clicking in "Entry" or "Any State" gives me the option.

UPDATE: Downloading the latest build (2021.2.16f1) without LTS has solved my issue. :)

We found the same in Unity 2020.3.3f1 on Win10 and 11, but not on MacOS 12.2.1. Can only make transitions from States that do not have other transitions.

For people not looking to change Unity version we used a workaround : put the inspector in Debug Mode and then right click works as intended.
It was mentioned on another Animator UI issue : https://forum.unity.com/threads/pro...sitions-in-the-animator.1255572/#post-8007764

I had the same issue, but I think I've found an unusual solution: select both "Any State" and "Entry"; rightclick "Any State" while they're still selected; then continue normally.

Actually, you see that once you create a transition (in inspector/normal mode instead of debug), the highlight of your node (e.g. "Any state" node) blinks once quickly and it is not selected.

2020.3.32 has seemingly had a ton of weird quirks like this. Especially when working with the inspector.

Why do these issues occur only in LTS versions, and when did unity stop uploading unity versions with this kind of cheap bugs.
