@dyox: Damn, this terraingen looks good!

Are you the one who did the "next-gen" minecraft video on youtube? BTW, that is a terribly high price point.

And is this unity free compatible?

Wow, really like the improved water shader. We have played around with a couple but haven't found one we liked yet. Well done as always - looking great!

That's fantastic, if you could suggest one place to learn C# what would it be?

Wow, this is powerful stuff! And very beautiful. About your path finding implementation, is it correctly understood that your noise function is also generating the way points? So when you alter terrain, path finding no longer work at that place? And also I understood from a previous comment that it doesn't work vertically? (like finding your way out of a cave)

    Thank you

@Stuffe: if the waypoints are generated by the noise, it would probably be re-generated everytime you make an edit. just saying, as I could be wrong... ;)

@Dantas : Internet internet internet. I'm french so i only know french website, but i'm sure you can find good C# tuto on google.

    @FuzzyQuills : Thank you :D

@_Eli_ : Yes TerrainEngine is for sale, but for studios (indie or not).

The pathfinding is dynamic and in all directions for all type of path. (an unit can go out of a cave or enter on it)
A flying unit can use only air voxel to go to any position, same for aquatic or ground.
When an unit is moving, if the terrain have changed the path is regenerated.

No waypoints are generated, i don"t provide any IA system with TerrainEngine. If you plan to generate waypoints for your creature when the world is generated, it's pretty simple, you just have to take random X/Z coords around your unit and check with the pathfinding if your creature can go to it and add them to your waypoints.

@dyox while the vids are impressive, your web site needs a ton of work. On the homepage you have a slide that literally says "Test Animation Slide - blahblahblahblahblah blahbla blah". Scrolling down scrolls the top nav from right to left. Its half English and half placeholder text? It doesn't really provide any info. Your contact form doesn't layout nicely. On a tablet, the site doesn't work at all really (W8 Slate). The site seems to barley work but only if I make it full monitor width (1920px...Linux Chrome).

Anyway, if you want to be taken seriously professional, as one who can command a very high price for what appears to be very good tech, then you need to present yourself as such. Make your next hire a marketing person because you really need it. This looks fly by night to me, and not someone I would hand over 2.5x the price of the product it actually runs in.

    Hello intrawebs. First thank you.
I'm not the dev of the website, i understand that at the moment it is not very professional.
My priority at the moment is not the website but the Engine.
But I can understand that will confuse, so I provided my email directly to contact me for learn more about the engine and me if necessary.
The website will be developed when TerrainEngine reach a larger audience.
At the moment it is not very useful because the post includes all the necessary information.
But thank you for your comment, it is greatly considered.

It seems you may have the best terrain engine for Unity but we cannot yet afford it given the price. With that said, I feel you would "attract a larger audience" if you had price feature tiers instead of your current - 1 price for the whole package deal.

Perhaps if you did something À la carte:

Option 1: $X,XXX = Core Package with 1 or 2 Fluids, Utilities, No Biomes etc.
Option 2: $X,XXX = Medium Package with a few more Fluids, Utilities, Shaders etc.
Option 3: $X,XXX = Full Package includes everything and Multiplayer

These could be setup on your site linked with Paypal or something.

    Just a suggestion :)
    Cheers.

@TouchTiltGames, Dyox: A limited free version would be good too! Either way, a price split's a nice idea. Also wouldn't mind a trial version! :)

I too am waiting for a response.

But guys please try to be understanding; sounds like he's the only developer and currently working on v9. I also think he might have a hard time filtering out serious inquiries vs non.

I am hoping he will respond in due time.

I'm really interested in getting testimonials on people who bought it. I understand the fact there isn't a demo version, it's hell to maintain one source already, but is there any place where I can read some reviews?
Also, how is the license handled? Is there a support or update cost? Is it per seat or per project? Do you plan on doing an Asset Store license for small developers?
    thanks.

We are users of Terrain Engine. We bought it in March of 2013. Since our purchase, Dyox has added so many features to the system. We almost felt like it was an investment in the tech - when we got TE he had just started working on getting some kind of tree system working. Within 2 months of our purchase he had Water working, Trees and details and grass with Pooling, better Terrain and very often after that he has pushed out updates and optimizations. V9 is going to be awesome, lots more great stuff. Hes not on here a lot, but once your a customer he answers support questions in Skype pretty timely. Hope that helps!

That is an absurdly obnoxious statement. As Xenogalaxies said, he's away from his computer which stands to reason that he can't reply to all of us in the fashion we would like. Dyox has been working on this engine for a few years. I don't think he's going to up and lose interest.

So maybe be patient and wait, sans the passive aggressive comments.

    is amazing.

I want to use it to my indie game. but , the cost of your package (the license "$3200" )? and what contains? is full? contain the fluids, the ambient oclusion for the caverns and etc?

the most important is the price and if i can use it in multiplayer.
