Working on it... will get back to you soon!
EDIT: need to know more about how the AI must move, do you just need a pathfinding algorithm? or is there more to it? I've done the other 3 scripts! ;)

Hey Lazy, this sounds like an interesting project — I know a lot of kids love the Slender game. You should consider making your version open-source and posting the project somewhere. You can still sell it too if you like; it's unlikely anybody's going to try to steal your idea (especially when your idea is borrowed from Slender and your scripts are mostly written by Emma anyway ;)). But it could make a great example to help kids (or anyone) get into Unity.

You're also likely to get a lot of helpful feedback and fixes in the code, as well as racking up that good coding karma!

    Just a thought,
    - Joe

Ya like I mentioned in a few places the scripting section should be about learning and getting help with certain problems. Not asking for others to do work for free.

Thank you for the headsup and i really appreciate your support alot!
The game im making is sort of similar to slender but with a different
monster and with other things to collect.

There are also going to be tons of maps for people to play.
And thank your for the feedback

I'll send you the scripts by pm when they're all finished.

Also I meant is the enemy a rigidbody or characterController type setup, or just a transform?
Also does the enemy need to be animated?

Pretty new around here.. Not sure I feel comfortable with people just asking for entirely free scripts to copy/paste, instead of attempting and learning themselves.

OP's name is apt, at leas the first half - Lazy.

Then they should be looking for one in the Collaboration or Commercial Work section or attempting to learn it themselves and posting questions in this section.

No argument, but some only see this section as the "scripting" section, a place to ask about scripts.

Asking *about* scripts and asking *for* them are different. It should be the impetus of other forum users to point them to the proper section :)

I was using the word "about" generically, some users don't know the difference, I'm not arguing with you I'm just stating their misguidance.

    I think that's pushing it a bit...
Do you not want to learn how to do it yourself?

All i need is just afew scripts so can i please just get away with that?

yes, i would love to learn but to me, its like learning a new language, it basically is but i just don't
    get anything about scripting.

its just one of those things i probably wont get for like 15 years.. im just not a quick learner so its easy
to get someone who knows how to to help out by lending me a few scripts.

i would love to learn how to do it but i am one of those people that love creating games
but really has absolutely and probably will never be able to learn how to script.

Game creating has always been my dream job but i don't know how to script so
i am just asking someone friendly out there who is willing to give out a helping hand
and not to just tell me to go f**k myself and learn it. i really cant learn scripting but
i love making games. so i am asking for a few scripts..

is that too much to ask for?
Why can only one person be nice enough to actually help me?
why am i being told to learn when i cant?

Well, really, whatever works for you.
But don't excuse it with "I'll never be able to".
If you really want to learn, do it, nothing of quality is earned in a short amount of time, anyway.

But if you are really incapable of doing so for any sort of reason, but still want to work, why not create a small team to do it together? This way, the sense of accomplishment should be much greater, and you can focus on game design and mapping or whatever you want to focus on.

Also programming being this big scary beast to you, is only a self fulfilling prophecy. You are approaching it already thinking it is too complex for you, which makes it true in your mind, no one can learn with that mindset.

It is possible to learn, but you need the motivation, and sometimes a helping hand. If I do these scripts for LazyLyrics then he'll have something to learn from example, with good comments, I'm not a terrible coder myself. I've been coding since I was 12, my logic skills are beyond most of the programmers on the commercial and collaboration sections, "most" not all.

And I have been programming in Unity for over 4 years now. I have 3D modelling skills, texturing skills, sound skills (music, voice over and sfx). I'm pretty well established skill wise, but I need to get known. I still need to learn animation, this is a perfect opportunity to learn, while helping somebody else too (don't get me wrong I know how to use animation software, the one I know best is Blender, but i've never really done anything full on before).

I hope people understand this, and understand that me and LazyLyrics are in a loose collaboration now, considering that yes it should have been established in the collaboration section, but in this case it was established here. Stop being so jealous! ;)

No one was blaming you TwixEmma, I admire your capacity to work and help others. I've seen your posts all around, and they seemed like they were very well written.

I was just noting that he should not give up unless he already decided coding is not for him, not because it's tough :)

Also, it's not everyday that you meet a gaming-related young coding dudette, there's a reason for people to be jealous of you spending your time with one person ;)

There's this famous quote about fish and teaching a man how to fish as opposed to giving him a fish....

@LazyLyrics - go do every tutorial in the Learn section of this site. That's honestly the best way to get started.

Under the assumption that someone with no programming experience can learn just by reading code - which is usually not the case.

Do you really think scripting/programming can be learnt in a few months? There are quite a few people in the forums who have been programming for over 30 years and if you talk to them, they'll tell you that they have never stopped learning . I have ADHD and it takes me a long time to learn something but I do it rather than asking someone to do all the dirty work for me. You can't understand it in 15 years? Sure, take 20 years to understand it then.

If you don't consider yourself a programmer, form a small team and do something you specialise at. Maybe it's sounds, maybe it's art. But if you do want to learn scripting, learn the basics of C# from a book and watch some tutorials. Then watch the unity tutorials and refer to the document whenever you're in trouble.

A small doubt is fine, but the scripts for the whole game is a bit too much to ask, IMHO.
Remember, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

I can pretty much confirm what most are saying i learned to code in a few months, started taking on paid work writing C# C++ and Python 1 year after, and have been at it for 5 years now.

I can solve any programming problem that gets tossed my way, but yes even im still learning, and still taking on things just for the challenge and learning process involved.

Come on guys, Ive already stated that i cant code.. i just really want to but its not my kind of thing.
im a bit young to even learn something that complicated already and im not an easy learner

all i asked for was just a few scripts so why does everyone tell me to learn myself when i cant

Scripting really isn't my thing :(

And "TwixEmma" is actually kind enough to lend a hand out a young, stuck developer who cant find his
    way.

Please "STOP" saying things like "you shouldn't have been getting free scripts" or "You need to go learn yourself"

    Like i said
, im kinda stuck in the mud here and im just getting a helping hand to get me to the end.

i have bolded out the important parts

You are an inexperienced developer who asked for help with his game. Not super uncommon. TwixEmma is being extremely kind and writing scripts for you - hopefully you read over these and attempt to understand them.

If coding truly isn't your thing, and you don't intend to learn further, than that is fine. Coding isn't for everyone. But please make future posts requesting code in either Collaboration or Commercial forums. Despite the fact that you were able to find a person to assist you here, "Scripting" is not the place to ask to be given fully written code. It is for developers asking for help in understanding and writing code, discussing best practices, and similar related topics.

People don't generally have a problem with TwixEmma helping you out (putting aside the fish analogy) - they just don't want to see it done here. It only encourages you to come back to the same place asking for future help of the same nature, and encourages other people to do the same. Nobody wants this forum littered with topics asking for code handouts.

Best of luck with your projects.

Thx hippocoder, i cannot believe how much hate
comes into a post just to ask for something :(

im not the kind of person who can learn how to script
well and most people who have commented in this
seriously have a problem understanding that ive said
    that like 15 times.

im not saying everyone but just some people

Let's be clear, just focus on what you can do. If you say you can't and won't code, then don't post asking for code, end of. Use something like playmaker or pay for it.

    http://unity3d.com/learn
    http://u3d.as/content/hutong-games-llc/playmaker/1Az

If you are willing to learn then I suggest the learn tutorials. Everyone learns at a different pace, but there's not going to be enough support to make your game for you :) However nearly everyone is willing to help you learn.

Plus, this is technically a thread for collaboration, not general unity discussion.

Having Lazy in your username while asking for code to make your game for you, and then announcing you can't code, will just piss half the forum off, so I'm locking this thread before it goes from bad to worse.
