    Hello All Crazy Gamers !

    Sorry for my english but i'm French !

    In First a very big Thank to the Unity Staff for this fantastic software.

    Credits:

    I'm roka , and the last year i have started one FPS with Dark Basic Pro but i get bored with the quality of this software and after 6 months of crazy days i have discover the unity engine and my first word was "WOOOO".

    For Develop my project , i have take 2 months with unity , with Dark Basic Pro over 6 months and the result was realy bad .....

    So i show you my little project , i work on it just when i have a free time , this project is not for real launching ("I think :) )

    it's a traditional FPS zombie game , on my demo i dont have activated the "Dead" function , so you can test without a stupid respawn everytime :)

    2 demo are available :
    1- for user who have azerty keyboard
    2- for user who have qwerty keyboard

    i have do that because i know many peoples that dont know how to change your keyboard ....... and because i dont have setup my menu options :)

    Commands :

    Move : ZQDS or WASD
    crouch : C
    Run : LEFT MAJ
    jump : Space Bar
    Reload : R
    Weapon Change : 1/2/3
    Take Weapon : E
    fire: LEFT MOUSE
    aim: RIGHT MOUSE

    You have 2 Points in the map

    1 for get ammo
    2 for get medic

    -Real map has been add
    -Wave system has been add ( only 5 wave at the moment)
    -New weapon MP5 model from DARKSHINE
    -Respawn has been add
    -Another zombie has been add
    -Now you can take weapon on the ground

    How did you convert them ?

    I´ve tried a lot and didn´t get them into any good format i can use im my 3D Package or in Unity.

    Nice job! Although, the explosion isn't of high quality as the other things. It looks more outdated. ;)

    The A-Lab / RapidUnity guy made a tutorial for it, its here: http://www.alabsoft.com/importdx.php

    I forget what software he uses, but it had a free trial and he tells you where to get it, and the tutorial is free.

    Awesome, I had no idea UU3D worked with both of them. Does it maintain the animations?

    Yes thats the question. I have no problems to convert the meshes, but the animations.

    The method that I used from that tutorial I linked did keep the animation data and worked fine in Unity, I'm assuming UU3D does too.

    for convert my model i use Ultimate Unwrap3D Pro and milkshape
    for my geometry i use 3D world studio

    It does maintain the animations. All the other methods I've tried didn't work with most of the FPSC models.

    Nice, I just bought 3d world studio yesterday... seems like a cool program for the non-3d artist. Gonna test it out tonight. I have a question though, how do you handle normal mapping with it? Do you use it at all? Since it generates a UV map for whatever geometry you make, I was thinking of re-painting my geometry in 3d world studio with my actual normal maps (that correspond to the textures I'm repainting), and use that UV as the normal map in Unity. Do you think that would work?

    I have add the video if you dont want test it !
    you can't use Normal Map in 3d world studio , you need to apply it in the engine

    I'm aware of that... but doesn't 3d world studio UV map whatever geometry you make with it and export a single material?

    For instance, say i have a set of 5 textures with 5 normal maps, and I use those 5 textures in 3d world studio to create a building. Once I get that in Unity isn't it going to be a single texture uv with all the textures I used mashed into one? How would I use my corresponding normal maps to bump that?

    What I was saying was, what if I imported the normal maps into 3d world studio and used them as regular textures, to retexture the whole building, then exported that UV?

    3d world studio dont export on one single texture, all face will be exported with the proper texture , for add a normal mapping , you will need to add your normal map texture in unity and then apply a shader on your map object and add Normal texture

    Ohh, I didn't know that. I thought it combined and created multiple textures into one material.

    Does that mean every texture you use in a map in 3d world studio = 1 draw call in Unity?

    for me 3d world studio is not a good solution for work with unity but like i have paid it i use it lol
    i have search 2 days for found one good solution for adapt 3d world studio map on unity and i do it working nice by converting my model and generate one mesh per texture , so for the moment i have 5/6 texture so its easy but if i make one map with 150 textures i will need to take over 45 minuts for setup my map in unity this is the bad things

    that is good,your animation is really good.the only thing is it needs is safe points and more guns(unlimated zombies not bad,yet not the way i would go but that is just me).

    I found softimage mod tool 7.5 from Autodesk the easiest to convert from FPS Creators model packs. Just a couple of quirks around orientation, and remove some camera views, but overall not too bad.

    The game play and look of it is well done. But the maze like environment could use some props or new geom to spice it up.. It looks super simple.

    Am I the only person that would for sure compare this to Call Of Duty gameplay wise? It's amazing!

    Make some models, new enemies, and more levels and I'm sure you'll have a AAA game!

    Can you upload a build, It's fun to play around with it. But a build would be much better.

    Do you use standard movement keys (WASD)?
    I need to press z to move forward and s to move backward...

    i have make 2 version in the first page
    you have one version for azerty keyboard and one for qwerty keyboard
    in the futur the user will setup the key in my options

    Nice start! :D

    But the respawning is terrible.. --zombies radomly spawning even behind the player. I think it would be a lot better if you see the enemies coming from somewhere.. some logic starting location like a drain or so. Not just poping up from nowhere.. :)

    Damn, I wish i could model arms on guns- and animate the zoom in to be the center of the screen...

    Anywayz, it was good. A bit creepy, until I found where this one zombie was spawning and got about 100 headshots.

    Where did you get the zombie models from? Are they from fpsc? If so, how did you convert them? The link on the first page is dead.

    the zombie models are frome FPSC pack and i have convert these model with Ultimate Unwrap3D Pro

    Great stuff! I have one observation: when you reload on the mp5 you lose ammo, so even if your full and swap a clip your clip count goes down - I'm a prolific reloader in these games, so noticed it right off - is this WAI or oversight?
