Ikari Strategy Camera

    • Features:
      • Rotation, with incremental rotation, speed, and more adjusts
      • Zoom, with smooth option, speed and more adjusts
      • Complete Keyboard support , you can even select in the inspector what keys do you want to use.
      • Custom Editor with customizable interface (You can select the color of the logo, and maybe i will expand this...
      • Follow targets functions.
      • More things to come, more of them are very handy, like automatic adjust based on the ground height, boundaries for the terrain, etc...
      • A good support, without letting the asset abandoned.
    • Updates:
      • Added Limits without the need of invisible colliders (1.0.1)
      • Closed terrain and organized scene graphics (1.0.1)



    If someone have a suggestion or like it just leave a comment, the feedback for a developer is very good :)
    I can implement functions based on suggestions if it's good or it's a really nice addition.

    Perfect, actually i'm still working on it so when i have all prepared i will do a video and post a build, and as i said if you have any suggestions i'm open to them :)

    I almost finish the script, i need to do a depth test for see if it have any bug, i'm not very good at demo scenes but i tried to do one.

    The shader of the water, the textures and the terrain are in the pack, and you can use it freely.

    Tomorrow i will continue with the test and i will try to submit it, but i want to add an addition before submit it.
    For the sirs and ladies, let me know if you have any question/suggestions.

    • Implemented a function for follow an object with customizable smooth movement or not
    • Implemented a function for focus an object with customizable smooth movement or not
    • Implemented a function for stop this movement | focus
    • Implemented a bool for not move the camera when the mouse is on the editor for better control
    • Added a demo script for demonstrated this function / help
    • Added physical controls to the zoom, with selectable keys
    • Some fixes

    I'm doing the graphics/demos for submit it to the asset store

    Since it passed 24 hours since my last post and i need to give some info i'm writing this message.

    Did today:
    • Implemented rotation around a target if the camera is following one.
    • Implemented options for when the camera is following a target.
    • Fixed Focus function.
    • Depth testing completed , no bugs found so far.
    My plans for today are:
    • Prepare a good scene demo for the webplayer.
    • Try to do a video in English showing the features, and the system itself.
    • Prepare some kind of Manual in PDF
    • Add in the editor buttons for email me/add me on skype if you have any doubt.
    • Try to submit it to the store ^w^!

    I deleted the old post because the update checker lagged a lot the editor so i needed to remove it.
    Here is a gif showing a little basic AI script i did and showing the following features of the camera All you can see will be included in the package :)
    I will post more gifs, and tomorrow i will do the video, since i'm not good at speaking on English i needed to write it first.

    • Fixed Camera rotation bug
    • Fixed Camera rotation when following.
    • Fixed Camera rotation focus
    • Fixed Camera Focus
    • Fixed stop method.
    • Changed the buttons to legacy UI
    • Changed the version of unity, from 4.6 beta to 4.3.1 for more compatibility

    Controls:
    Mouse Movement - Move the mouse to the edge of the screen.
    Mouse Rotation - Press the middle button of the mouse and move the mouse to the left or right.
    Mouse Zoom - Scroll Wheel of the mouse.

    Keys Movement - Arrow Keys ↕ ↔
    Keys Rotation - Q(Left) , E(Right)
    Keys Zoom - Keypad + (Down), Keypad - (Up)

    If you press the yellow capsule and then press somewhere in the terrain it will more where you click

    Hi, i need some feedback of the users even if you are not a buyer it's greatly appreciated ^^:

    What i should add to the system for make you to buy it?

    What price it should have?, actually is 15$ but it's a lot?, how many will you pay?

    Any suggestions?

    Update 1.0.1 (Submitted to the asset store, waiting for review)

    Added Limits for don't go to the infinite with the camera, those values are customizables.


    Closed terrain and adjusted water.

    Hi i need some feedback here, i have implemented input touch for mobile, but i don't know what can i add for do it better the options i'm thinking are those, hold to move, drag and tap for stop, and inverted drag what do you guys think?

    Since there are no sales so far it's hard to improve this asset :)

    I'm not searching for feedback about the price, but it makes me curious now.

    its only a camera controller... and there are plenty of free camera controllers around, some included with unity standard assets.

    Well it's not a normal camera controller, it have a lot of customizable options for example it have limits, customizable keys, smooth options, rotation, rotation around a unit, unit follow script, i'm implementing mobile input, it's also frame indepently, and i'm thinking to add more features(I have a todo list), i also offer updates and my fast customer support for it.

    If you think that's still not a lot, what do you think i can add for worth it?
    Maybe i can put it to 5 or 10 like you said.

    Oh and by the way this asset was submitted to the 24 hours deal formulary at the price of 5$

    all of those features are available by taking the free camera controllers and mashing them together.

    I dont think theres much you could add to a camera controller to make it worth a lot more.

    If you are looking to make money of rts scripts, perhaps include some other features like multi unit selection, minimap, fog of war, etc. Stuff thats a little more difficult than a camera controller.

    This is now called Ikari Strategy Camera, the asset will be updated with support for mobile devices or touch devices.
    And now it cost 5$.

    Some updates on this:
    -The touch support is done i still need to improve it.
    -Some minor bugs still need to be fixed.
    -The redesign is done but i need to push it to the store.

    I think i will be able to push the update in the next weeks

    I just purchased your RTS camera. Is there a way to make it rotate around a the center of the screen, no matter the zoom distance? I've been trying to find a way to implement this feature for a while and have had little success. The classic RTSs and 3D top down RPGs (like Wasteland 2) all have the feature.
