    Hi everyone,

I'd like to show you our new game Panda Playground. It's set to release on the App Store and Play Store on September 19th. We have been working on this game for about 3 months and earlier this week it was approved by Apple! Most of the level assets were purchased from the asset store while we took care of the programming and 2D art work.

The game is designed for children and in doing so we are setting the price at $1.99 and there will be no in-app purchases or in-game ads for kids to buy/click on. Every couple weeks we will be adding content packs for free, the first will add two new maps. The next one will add two more maps and a new game mode.

Panda Playground is a third-panda view of a world that takes you to mystical caverns, snowy peaks and spooky castles in a panda-filled adventure for kids. Tagging fellow panda's, competing in various races, engaging in scavenger hunts and collecting a variety of food items is the tip of the nose for gamers; as they explore the lush and exciting world of Panda Playground.

    Here's the trailer:

This is a video of level creation. This level is set to release with the first content pack.

Thanks for looking! If you'd like to see more about the game you can see a longer description and some screen shots on our site: http://www.dreamrunningstudios.com/

Im amazed. This is a great looking game. especially for mobile platform. How many people worked on this dev team. I like the video showing how the level was put together. What was the actual time that it took to do all of that?

There were two of us that worked to make the game. We bought most of the level assets from the asset store so that cut at least a month off development and it looks great since nether of us are good at 3d modeling haha. Each level took a 3-4 days to make, the programming took about a month to get working smoothly and the 2d art was pretty constant through all 3 months of development. The video was speed up and cut from about 16 hours of video which is why its fast and still 30 minutes long.

To get it running smoothly on the mobile platform we only had the characters using real time shadows, everything else is baked, you can see in the second video that all the collisions are placed by us in the level so that helps keep the collider count down. Other then that its just compressing everything as much as you can get away with and still look ok haha.

That is awesome. I am working on a game project myself, I hope it comes out as awesome as your project did.

Great looking game, and as a programmer, its always interesting to me to watch the level building process. Just curious as to the actual build time it took for the Panda Playground you show in your above video?

    Great work on the game.

Thanks! And thanks for making the great music packs!

And thanks raiden, The level video was spread out over 3 or 4 days, I really had to break it up especially when placing the colliders haha.

The game is now on Kongregate for free with a video ad and the iOS and android versions are now $0.99 instead of $1.99.

Gratz on your new game :) Looks good and kids friendly for sure!

I miss a jump, double jump thou, and terrain where I'm not limited with invisible fence. Aside that, the first step seems to be kinda sliding, instead of moving.

    Good luck with the game!
