[RELEASED] HereVR Race Scene Packs

    NEW VEHICLE PACK (03) IS AVAILABLE HERE in 'Pro' version.

    The HereVR Race Scene is a dedicated project for developers who would like to make stunning quality car racing games/visualizations.

    At the current stage the next packages are available with continuous updates:

    WEBPLAYERS

    WHY IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER AVAILABLE 3D MODELS?

    All the cars/trucks are has unique, royalty-free design to avoid 'trademark/brand' conflicts when you publish your game/visualisation. So with using these cars you can release your game without having the permission of IRL car manufacturers/race teams.

    The wheels/steering wheel are prepared to be controlled by code (grouping, pivots); I think most of the users will use the freely available 'car tutorial' as their first approach (or some other 'control' packs available in the Asset Store to save their development time).
    As the idea of these models came from a complete F1 visualisation project we made earlier, for simple animations (no interactivity needed) I would suggest to make them outside Unity (we made tests both in Unity and 3ds Max and for animation purposes using Max (wiring controls) was a very fast approach, then we simple imported the animated FBX to Unity for final renders.

    It is planned to make animated character packs, more cars, equipment, buildings... barely everything what is needed to make a beautiful game/visualisation.

    I just bought this asset and i must say the quality is superb but i have a problem.

    The model pivots are wrong and almost all car controllers expect X to be facing right and Z forward. (In the models Z is facing right and X forward). Can you please export the models with the pivots fixed???.

    New update is on its way for the Vehicle Pack 01.
    - All vehicles has been rotated to use directly with Car Control packages
    - All vehicles has separated wheels from now (even the 'static' ones could be animated)
    - Collision mesh has been created for the body of the race cars (could be added manually if needed)

    Some news:

    The original concept of the Pit Garage Pack has been changed in the last few days while I had some internet issues, so almost every asset will have 3 LOD stages in the pack, what will bring some steps forward:

    - The ability to use in FPS view with great performance
    - The ability to use as mobile asset (with mixing the 2nd and 3rd LOD stages)

    It contains a new racecar and truck with 20 preset textures + layered source files for using your own patterns and logos. So if you want, you can almost 'fully' customize your cars and trucks. It also comes with a Police Minibus, based on the former 'Ambulance' mesh, but with different texture as an 'environment vehicle' (to put it to the parking area for bird's eye view, etc).

    The Pit Garage Pack 01. will also get the texture/color styles of this package. Technically it means that any time a new vehicle pack comes out, it will be fully compatible with the Pit Garage Pack. Furthermore the Vehicle Pack 01. will get layered source files, so that will be customizable, too.

    And now I have a question (I don't know how to make a poll here yet):

    What would like to see as a new package?

    - a new Vehicle Pack (new race car, new truck and a helicopter)
    or
    - a modular racetrack set with buildings, ads, fences, tribunes, flags, vegetation and other environment props

    For me that's an easy question. A modular racetrack. You can make a racing game with only one car model and different textures but you can't make a racing game without a track :D

    I hope you will like it: this is the first package with source files to use it with your custom logos and so on.

    I'm gonna get this ASAP, good work. I love that the vehicle pack 1 will get the layered sources too and i'm eager to see the racetrack package.

    I'd really like to see a AAA-quality, realistic, F1-style, modular racetrack set with track sections (with simplified/smooth collision meshes), kerbs, astroturf, gravel, run-off areas, concrete walls, tyre walls/barriers, grandstands, buildings, ads, fences, tribunes, flags, vegetation and other environment props.

    'Vehicle Pack 01' and 'Vehicle Pack 02'.

    The backside door from the trucks should be open and close able.

    The cars need a ramp on the backside.
    To let the racing cars drive into them and out.

    It is the purpose (except the astroturf: for that there is no quality solution in Unity for now; as far as I know only Lumion engine offers perfect quality 'grass'; anyways, there are some shaders in the AS for 'grass', based on fur and some other tricks.
    I plan to post some screenshots next week.
    I could use some help from you all; so I will make a detailed list what the package will include and you can comment it.

    As far as I know today the racecars travel 'boxed', without wheels. Am I right you would like to use the 'ramp' solution for cinematics/cutscenes?

    The Pit Garage Pack 01. will offer some stairs as props for the trucks, I hope that will help.
    The next update of the Pit Garage Pack will contain the matching color variations of the Vehicle Pack 02. and some new props (like this stairs).

    The Race Track Pack will be a huge one; it is not decided yet to split it to 'subpacks' or not. By the way, what do you think about crowdfunding related to projects like this? Would you take part in it for the next project?

    Like using IndieGoGo or Kickstarter to 'finance' an asset pack (kind of preordering what could help for the users to get stuff cheaper and asset creators to judge how much the users are interested in new packs).

    I'm happy to say that the new update for the Vehicle Pack 01 is out with the promised texture sources, so from now you can almost fully customize these cars in your projects.
    Import it please to an empty project instead of direct update, dir structure has been modified, too.
