Raptor Combat is a 2.5D action arcade aircraft shooter. Carefully pilot your F-22 Raptor past enemy lines in an attempt to eliminate as many hostile aircraft as possible.

You can now play online or download the game here.

The full game project has been released on the asset store. Get it now

Awesome work. As a guy who grew up playing games like this I must say good work so far. Not being able to see the bullets seems like it could make it a bit difficult, but it does give it a bit of a more realistic touch if that's what you're going for.

    Thanks.
In the game you can actually see some light bullet streaks, but they're not real noticeable and they didn't show up well in the video. I should probably make them more easily seen.

Looks pretty neat. Looking forward to playing it :)

Is there a slow motion button? Because if there isn't then I think it puts you in slow motion too often and that would get annoying. Good work though

    Thanks.
And yes, slow motion is controlled by the user. If the final version includes slow motion there will be some kind of limit.

    Ok cool.

What console will the game be released on?
And also will it cost money?

I would like t see it on iOS as I would definitely play it on my IPad :)

The source will definitely be for a price. I haven't decided on a price yet, that will probably depend on how advanced the game becomes and what features are integrated.

The only thing I didn't like 42 is the shooting sound effects. I think that'd get annoying real quick.
But everything else looked cool to me. I used to love these games.

    You're probably right.
Actually I'm hoping to replace all the sounds if I can.

    Update:
    • Added health and weapon bonuses that randomly spawn when an enemy aircraft is destroyed
    • The bullet streaks are now much more visible
Another quick bit of information - the regular bullets are not 100% accurate, you can see in the screen shot that they are a bit crooked. The accuracy varies with each shot which makes things a bit more interesting.

This game is also powered by Easy Weapons, my weapon system on the asset store. So keep in mind that if you buy the source for this game on the asset store, you will not be buying Easy Weapons as well. The weapon system is not included in this game, just some of the code is used and modified here and there.

Looks good. I'm an old school die hard shootemup fan. But some problems:

    - screen shake gets old quickly, if abused (I think its abused here)
    - bullets should always be the most visible thing on screen

    Thanks hippo.
I may tone down the camera shake, we'll see.

There are 2 types of weapons in the game, raycast and projectile. The raycast ones have a white streak like you see in the screenshot, the projectiles can be seen moving toward the target. Now there will be a few different types of enemy aircraft, it's just that the Nighthawks are the only ones I've made so far. I'll probably make an F-35 or a 16 or an 18, and those planes will have projectile weapons. They will be easier enemies to destroy than the Nighthawks, and it will be easier to dodge their bullets.

    Updates:
    • Pretty much all the sounds have been replaced. @theANMATOR2b, the new shooting sound effects are a lot better I think.
    • Added a "Wrecking" shield bonus that allows the player to be totally invulnerable for 10 seconds.
I was testing a few things when I decided to temporarily give myself infinite health for testing purposes. While I was testing I realized how fun it was to just smash into the enemies instead of shooting them - so I added the shield bonus.

Looks good! Based on the earlier video I thought the slow-mo was a dramatic effect when blowing up an enemy but in this last video it seems like the player's ship can control time briefly and use this defensively. That is very cool!

Currently the player can control slow motion at will. I'm about to change it so there is a limit on the amount of slow motion that can be used though - I'm afraid players will abuse it otherwise and just play the whole game in slow motion just to get the achievements.

    Very VERY soon.

Just implemented the slow motion thingy, so now if the player tries to stay in slow motion for 3 seconds, they will be thrown out of slow motion for another three seconds before they can use it again.
