Quoting sports personalities?

In my loading screen for a fishing simulation, I think random quotes from some known anglers (fishermen/women) would be very fitting. These quotes would be about the sport of fishing and not about my product. Will I fun into copyright issues? What I've found by looking over the internet is that you can't protect quotes and as long as they're not made to look like the person is endorsing my product I should be fine. Also, I plan to get the quotes from recorded interviews, not printed materials if that makes any difference?

Anyone more clued up on this?

First off, see a lawyer.

Second, you can be sued for anything... You might win, but that doesn't mean you won't spend a lot of time, money and energy on it.

 

It's probably not worth me paying a lawyer for, I could just remove the persons name and keep the quotes. It would be a little better with the names but perhaps not worth the hassle.
