    OOOOOOOooo-awwww. Dang it, Dabeh!

On a more serious note: No, you can't. I'm pretty sure it's in the ToS.

Yes, that`s how i understand it:

In the end, Unity doesn`t loose anything here. And when somebody is so fast to learn Unity and publish his first game within 30 days ...

    Nop, its:

    May not be distributed.
It cant be used for commercial purposes either.

If I remember right, the demo version has a stamp that clearly states it's done with a demo license, too.

Actually, I'm certain in the past I read people in these forums ask if it would be "smart" to make their game with the free version and only apply for the Pro demo once they are ready to "publish".

The trial is for evaluation purposes only.

Yep it evaluates your bank balance while tempting you with creatively fun candy and new tech bits.

Bad Unity, please setup a bootstrapping clause in your license e.g.

What if I make a movie of the game and sell that?

Maybe you can make a kickstarter to finance the movie you're going to make of the game?

That could work although Kickstarters appear to have peaked and is now a 'tour venue' for aging game developers with previous rockstar titles.

What about Ad revenue from a Youtube episodic movie, would it be capable of launching a game.

You could make a movie about running a kickstarter campaign to make a movie about making a game with the pro trial.

The FAQ wording is a bit ambiguous. Does "for commercial purposes" apply to "distrubuted" or only "used"? The EULA is clearer:
No distributing content at all with a trial.

It could make sense to wait because you would get to use the profiler for 30 days to optimize your completed game. You could further optimize your game with certain editor assets like "Concave Collider" that require a plug-in (Unity Pro only). You could still use the generated colliders in Free since they are just combinations of the basic collider types with the right size and orientation.

There are certain benefits to a Pro trial that could carry over to Free, and I doubt Unity would begrudge you too much if you made use of them for the 30 days. However, publishing anything for any reason with a Pro trial is not allowed.
