My friend want to use hack unity pro

before you delete this answer this first. When my friend know that i am using unity free he also want to use unity and he plan to hack the pro. But he just planning. WHAT WILL I DO TO PREVENT HIM DOING IT? WHAT WARNINGS I WILL SAY? PLEASE HELP

Replace 'films' with 'Unity'.

 

I wouldn't say anything, it's his choice... though perhaps a warning that IIRC Unity can actually check if a game is made with a cracked version or not.

 

Don't work with him unless he's using legal software (in that case meaning: unity free).
For a simple hobby project or first learning steps with Unity there really is no excuse not to use the free version legally.
I don't know many other software companys who give away a working free version of their software and even allow money to be made off of it without royalties.

 

I call bullsh*t. If this really was about your friend then you wouldn't post about it.

Put yourself in the shoes of the developer(s). Would you be ok with people stealing your game that you worked on for years?

I also... uhh... have a friend, who used cracked 3ds max in the past, learning it, doing hobby projects. In his country, even the student version was a lot of money (it was a relatively poor country, and back then the student version was not free). Then when that friend began looking for work, and he was great in 3ds max, the company purchased it so he was able to work better. And later, when that friend got into freelancing business, he purchased a legal 3ds max, because that was the tool that he knew.

Imagine if that friend of mine simply didn't had access to any modeling tool (blender wasn't an option around 2000...). I am sure I wouldn't be here to post my friend's story.

 

We all do use pirated software at certain times of our time.
Now, tell me if you purchase that songs you're listening on your phone?
I don't think so for most people.

 

I would tell him to post on the forum and try to figure out more about using a cracked version by asking about how to stop his friend from using a cracked version.

I have a friend who ate copious amounts of fried chicken last night, these "friends" I tell you always up to no good. Oh, wait that was me who ate all the chicken..

This is never a smart move. It is possible to be held accountable with your friend if they catch you.

If he used hacked version to play personnaly , nothing so bad.
But if he tries to sell any game made with the hacked version , he will have the baddest hard time he never had as this is totally illegal to sell anything made with one or more hacked software he don't have an official license.

So he can do what he wants as he knows the consequances and he has been warned now

 

See I have this idea where if I ever manage to make anything decent I want to show it off.
So as tempting as it might be at times using a cracked version isn't a good idea.
