The first and second level are not yet complete but have been fleshed out to the point where I feel like I can move on. Here is a first look at the third level which is set at night. I am currently working on establishing the mood and lighting.

More progress on the level. Dimmed the global illumination a little bit so that the window lights pop a little more.

Just starting to get some level design in for the latest level. Having some fun with the backdrop but need to balance it out with progress on gameplay experience.

I am from Canada but I just spent a week in a Spanish speaking country. I am easily influenced :)

Oh and I totally missed your question about the "Mesh Break". Do you mean the enemies exploding when they are hit with the projectile? If that was what you were referring to, it's the Mesh Explosion plug in from the Asset Store.

Some really hauntingly joyful music in for level three thanks to my composer!

lol why do I feel that you scenes are getting darker and darker? :p

I forgot to ask but what kind of background do you have? Your buildings seems to be quite complex.

Wait what...you got a composer too? So you got a team making this game? Interesting...

PS: The blinking button, so easy to make and such a damn nice effect it gives. Love it! :D

Hmm you think they're getting darker hey? I think I will lighten it up a little more. I don't want the scenes to be TOO dark. I'll add more light sources or turn up the overall scene lighting.

The buildings in the background are mostly just boxes and quite simple. The textures are quite high detail though, like windows and whatnot, giving the illusion of a detailed model. Really, they're just boxes with pictures of buildings projected on them :)

    Here's another screen:

hahaha, no when I meant the background I mean yours background as in computer scientist, designer, game maker etcetc.

Nothing wrong with it being too dark, it is night after all. I was just commenting that the pics what you are posting are getting darker and darker as was it going from a happy game to dark horror-ish game style.

OHHH hahaha. I am a 3D artist professionally. As you can probably tell by the art :)

Ahh yeah, but I am planning to add more color to it. I want this night level to be dark yet colorful.

As for a "team", not really haha. I have a composer making the music but the rest of the development has just been myself. I do find the Asset Store very useful though!

Exactly that! 3D artist...good now I can be happy with myself. :p

I found the art to be delicious and was wondering why mine looked like hell. Now it makes sense ;) Keep them coming...

Haha thanks! I am trying to use my strengths to my advantage. I had to learn a bunch of new things though in order to make this an actual game. Thanks to PlayMaker!

Some progress on the level. These circling saw hazards should make up some interesting gameplay challenges.

That's simply levels are very similar, why not making variation on industrial levels ? like abandonned with moss, plants , nature over or some high tech or old ruins level ? Will it be more fun gameplay mechanics ?
What is the purpose of the game, what is the story ? will it be some interesting plots or it is only arcade game ?

That's lot of work if you made modeling and texturing, really good work and a good game.
That's just me only industrial levels is just not my taste ;)

Thanks for your critiques! Those all sound like good ideas and I have thought about making a ruins area as the very last part of the game. I also do have to keep everything reasonable as I am the only developer at the moment. So I need to keep the scope as small as possible.

As for the background of the game I suggest you check out the online campaign!

When the character runs, it's not natural enought, only legs and arms are moving , the body and head are like always vertical they need to be more rotated towards front and with some small movement.

The scoring system is now in place! There are two GUI texts. One for overall score and one for counting the lotus flowers needed to activate your sidekick...

Need a bit of a change and so I went back to continue development on the first level. Implementing the scoring system that's been developed in the third level. The game is feeling more and more complete in terms of features. Just gotta implement them throughout now and just finish the game. Here are some screens:

Run Animation update! Looking better than the old one I'd say ;). The rest of the re-worked animations are coming soon. Can't wait to see everything running in-game!

The updated character and animations are now running in-game. Really happy with how they've turned out. During the shooting though, there will be an animation where he sticks his hand out as opposed to the projectiles just coming out from his face:

Here is a look at an updated and improved camera with some lerping. I think it really takes advantage of the 3D environment. Also a few other subtle things like better visuals on the projectiles, sound to support it as well as a screenshake when it kills enemies:
