    @Teila Coming soon. They are not forgotten. Doing up a barmaid as well eventually. Also thinking of redoing the FB1 cleric.

    Forgive my unartistic programmer eyes, but... why do the MB1 / FB1 models look soooo much better than the UMA ones? The faces and skin textures seem a lot better, but the body also seems more correct; somehow in the screenshots the UMA characters always look kinda... I don't know, dumpy? Troll-like? Is there a way to magically combine the better looking models of MB1/FB1 with the body-part-sizability from UMA, or is this a hopeless dream?

    Have you seen Will's UMA bodies and faces? They are fabulous.

    If I'm not mistaken, the UMAs also slouch due to the use of the basic mecanim idle. I think the non-UMAs are using a different, more straight-backed pose.

    I actually hadn't seen those until just now, and they do look much better.

    Yeah, it could be the slouch and the somewhat random body part sizes in them. I've just yet to see a UMA character look as good as the FB1 pic in the original post. Hopefully someone will post a screen showing off UMA2 with some new skins and a better idle animation.

    This made me laugh. lol

    The Bodies are different for MB1/FB1 and UMA. MB1/FB1 are a more athletically slim by default. However; with UMA you can also change the shape of the body. I generally just use the default to save time creating screenshots etc..

    Play around with the shape plus the re-texture and you might be able to get something close to MB1/FB1. The pose/idles also does make a bit of a difference in the pics.

    I may add a (generated)* body for them in the future.

    Wow, a body morph! That would be an amazing addition to UMA. I have been fighting the negative reactions to UMA for a while now. :) I find it very versatile, once you learn how to use it.

    By "body morph" ... are we talking about a body sliders UI? Or is that something else?

    Okay, some pictures of UMA characters. Hope you don't mind this here, Justb. Let me know and I will delete it if you wish.

    I do find that if people already have made up their mind about UMA (or anything else), pictures mean nothing. Also, we all have different tastes. These below were made with UMA 1 as a test to show different sizes and shapes. I used the muscular UMA 1 body, and I don't like the body textures at all. But there are better ones now, including Justb's. Also, these are in Unity 4..it was quite some time ago. :)



    This one uses Justb's maiden dress.


    They look nice to me and were well received by our community.

    Current UI. (morphing sliders). I'm not a coder, so I probably wouldn't be messing with any UMA code.

    @Teila @makeshiftwings (Keep in mind that the entire body texture is 1024 x 1024 res)

    Talked to ecurtz and a less limited DNA should be coming soon (meaning no limits on sizes, positions, and possibly renaming).

    Ok so I please for give me this dumb request.
    I have the Atavism version of UMA although I don't think it matters but how do I use the UMA Body Retexture Vol. 1.
    Do I import the asset and it merges with the standard UMA package?
    Then what do I do to use it.

    Again sorry if this sounds dumb but I am new to UMA and I don't want to trash my project by my lack of knowledge.

    Atavism does not use the regular UMA so you will be unable to get help except from Atavism. I suggest asking Jacques and his crew. It is one of the downfalls of using Atavism.

    Made some tweaks to the default male. The main issues found were: huge feet, huge hands, too much midsection weight/belly, glutes, head is also a bit wide and the neck slightly fat, among several other minor tweaks. I'll be adding the generated assets to the body re-texture pack soon.

    Is the light supposed to be coming through his hat? Looks like the brim if blocking light but it is getting through at the hat part.

    @Shawn67 It's shadow Bias. Turning it up causes shadows to move further from the source. Turning it down cause them to move closer, but also can add artifacts if set too low.

    UMA 2.0 latest update has several issues and my updated packages won't work out of box if your using the Asset store version. Some scripts get put in the standard assets folder, and some extra files were included that shouldn't be there in the last update.

    Working it out.

    This is UMA's / the Asset Store's fault, not justb's, so please direct your comments appropriately. We'll try to find the least annoying to end users fix for the issue ASAP.

    Issue should be resolved. UMA 2.0 assets are currently being updated. It ended up being an asset store issue and files getting mixed up and left over from a previous version of UMA. Simple fix.

    If your receiving bone hash errors from the recent Asset store folder issue, importing the characters first, then importing UMA should temporarily solve it.

    The next updates shouldn't have the issue.

    You have the right to use all the models in your "game" and for promotional purposes to that end, but not the right to use them to promote your asset store products (without contacting me first), or to resell them in a package (never).

    First impressions should come from the asset's screenshots themselves and not second/third party channels.
