i think one thing that you need to update that would make this asset a got to get asset is make it where there is different direction that the character face at least 8 direction so 8 different texture spots

    N
    W NW,SW NE, SE E
    S

but overall looks pretty cool got to say.

Thank you, killerwol, for the feedback and the remark. My intention here was to make it more easier for developers so it is not necessary to produce so many different textures for one character.

You are right, it would look better. I will insert this as an alternative to the current one. Thanks a lot!

    FYI:

There is a free pack of additional textures you can use for Isometric Shooter: http://u3d.as/8r0

Of course, you can also use it for any other project, too.

Your welcome, any time keep up the good work,

o really cool, like the top level would be a good texture to use to show combat on floor nicely done, and can not forget the lower bottom to give your UI a kick boost in presentation, and it free a dream come true :)

    Hi,

your template looks interesting , but what about the underlaying technology? I mean have you used unity2D or did you used any of the 2d tools exist on asset store like 2D toolkit or something? please give us more inside about the template?

Also if I want to add mobile support is there any suggestion? have you succesfully integrate it with any mobile control plugins?

What about art integration can I use a high quality isometric graphics like:
    http://retrostylegames.com/artwork/game-sprites-2d-3d/

Finally regarding the enemy and Hero what kind of weapons I can build using this template?

    Thanks in advance

Dear bravery, thank you for your interest. Please find the answers as follows:

    1. Technology:
      • This template is based on 3d environment with an isometric camera looking at 3d space.
      • It is created from scratch with Unity Free and without any additional tools or plugins.
      • The movement of the player, the NPCs, the projectiles and obstacles and all other is based on physics.
      • The code is written in Javascript.
    2. Mobile controls:
      • Mobile controls are currently not included, but on the feature list for one of the next releases.
      • I had contact to a user of Isometric Shooter who got it working with a already existing mobile control asset.
      • If you are interested i could forward the contact to you, if this user agrees.
    3. Graphics:
      • The obstacles on the map are 3d, but you are free to use 2d sprites here. Just define the suitable collider.
    4. Weapons:
      • The template supports direct shoot and ballistic shoot (physical trajectory).
      • You are completely free to insert custom weapons with custom projectiles.
      • You can define the frequency, speed, amount and areal damage of projectiles.
      • You can define the colour of damage, health, ammo and xp points.

I hope this helped. Please do not hesitate to ask more questions.

    Best regards.

    Thank you for your answers,
so it's based on 3d assets, i'm really surrise how you make them look like pixel art? as usually 3d arts is better in quality than pixel art is it something (some effect)you do with the camera ?
So in this case I need the assets to be in 3d and not 2d arts, to build a game like alien shooter right?
Now regarding the weapon features, can I have a shoot-gun (multiple direct shoots), and plasma gun? and how much customization I need to handle to achive this?
What about the Enemy AI, can the enemies or at least some of them avoid obstacles ? can enemies throgh projectiles?
Does the package support macanim animation?
Finally is there a documentation to show how to setup the characters (enemy/hero) and the setup of the level?

    Please find the following answers:
    1. Art:
      • The impression comes from the pixel style textures. No special camera or other effect is used.
      • You can use build in cubes, like i did for the 3d obstacles. You could also use imported meshs or even 2d sprites with cubic (or other) collider.
    2. Weapons:
      • Multiple projectiles per shot are not yet included, but thank you for this idea! I will include it with next release. I am immediately thinking of amount and spread of projectiles per shot.
    3. AI:
      • The AI is very very simple at the moment.
      • Each enemy (called NPC in the template) knows where the player is and reacts in case the player goes under a defined distance. The distance can be defined at each enemy individually.
      • As the AI does not know paths at the moment, it simply destroys the obstacles to reach the player.
      • The pathfinding currently has a low priority. I kindly ask you to look for already existing assets, for the moment.
    4. Mechanim:
      • Unfortunately, i have no experience with mechanim. So i would say it is currently not supported.
      • I will take a look into it.
    5. Documentation:
      • There is inline code documentation and an additional PDF file with basic information.
      • For a better understanding, i am preparing tutorials for editing of maps, characters, weapons, etc.
