I´ve been trying to install the preview on both my laptop and my desktop computer but havent managed to.
My laptop gets stuck on the installing documentation.exe and when I install it without documentation this is the far Unity works:

On my desktop it doesnt even launch after installing :(

Could you try installing just the Editor. Without Documentation or Standard Assets.

Really no idea at the moment. We'll have to wait and see if anyone else is having the same problem and solution.
I guess you could do the typical things like restart computer after installing.
I noticed on your desktop, your Unity5.3.5f1 icon has the Run as Administrator symbol on it. Maybe you could try Run as Administrator with the Experimental Preview?

Could you try installing the preview to a path that doesn't have spaces? It looks like something has been broken in the Home Window code that we need to fix, but putting the install somewhere without spaces might let you work around it in the meantime.

    Hey everyone,

I seem to be having issues booting up this build of Unity on Windows 10 64-bit. I don't even see the splash screen or bring up the recents project menu. The Unity Editor process shows up in Task Manager for about a second before silently crashing.

I've tried installing with just the editor and the editor with the Standard Assets and Documentation. I've also tried installing it to a path without spaces (C:\Unity\*) to no avail.

In referencing the 5.3 fix mentioned earlier in the thread, right now the %APPDATA%/Unity folder for me is empty due to no successful run. It didn't work with an older version installed in parallel so I removed all versions of Unity off my machine and installed it on it's own, so I'm assuming it also purged that folder on uninstall.

Is there a diagnostics flag / alternative way of spinning up Unity that could produce debug information that I could post in order to help figure this out?

    Thanks!

Tried installing on Windows 8 - tried lots of different directory names, 32 and 64 bit - all show unity splash screen then get stuck with dark grey blank box where Project picker normally appears. Can't do anything from there. Really want to test this but you need to make sure it works please

You have it working now, after installing somewhere other than Program Files?

Yes sorry it works now - you just can't install to Program Files (which is default path)

I've tried the following with no progress on the silent crashing on startup on Windows 10 64-bit:
    • 64-bit, only editor
    • 64-bit, typical install (Documentation, Standard Assets, VS Tools)
    • 32-bit, only editor
    • 32-bit, typical install
    • Use the downloader to store the UnitySetup64.exe and run it as administrator
Any clue on getting some diagnostic information to iron this out? Thanks!

Apologies. It must be frustrating. It looks like you've gone through all the different attempts I would have suggested. Aside from the Log I'm not aware of any other method of getting diagnostic info. I'll check up on it.

EDIT - After changing the folder path to no longer include spaces(ie from "C:\Unity 5.5.0a1" -> "C:\Unity5.5.0a1"), it works!

    I'm getting this as well.

Tried installing 64 bit(only editor), 64 bit(Docs, Standard Assets, VS stuff), 32 bit.

Along with that I've tried running it from:
    • C:/Program Files/
    • C:/
    • D:/
Also tried every compatibility mode available.
    Windows 10
    AMD X4 760K
    R7 260X

A friend of mine has the same problem, he cut the folder to C:\Unity, then it works, then move it back to Program Files and it works
