I love it so much. About 25% of my day is devoted to working with it and it's just so dang fun. Not only can I make money with the games I make but this stuff looks great on a resume. Now that I've been using Unity for about 6 months I can do a lot more with it at a much faster speed. AND the mobile licenses are now free!

So hey what do you love about Unity?

I love the fact that in Unity, creating assets and scenes are simply a snap...i don't have to do too much fiddling around with settings and just focus on the art that will make my game look great and stand out from the rest :)

I doubt if people ever get the meaning of boat names in most cases.

Although I could plaster a phat Unity logo on the side of me ship.

    3 things

    1. The ease of use

    2. I can make commercial games with the free version

    3. out of the box (so to speak) support for 3 languages, C#, Boo, and Unity's Javascript.

Its easier today than it was ever. Speaking from personal experiance, not from gaming industry though, but it applies to it too.

no. thats a horrid idea. blinking = bad UI 101

an icon with a tombstone would be more appropriate.

Come on. You can do better than that. He's barely even undead. Liches are in that grey middle ground where he's technically not undead because he never really died in the first place, but at the same time he's a Maiar so what is death to them anyway. Never mind the fact that he doesn't do much resurrecting.

    Nice try but come again.

Your Lord of the Rings lore is clearly not up to snuff.

While resurrecting, he took residence in Dol Guldur. He was known as 'The Necromancer' during that time, in order to avoid the Vaiar (Gandalf, etc.) discovering his return. Thus, it's perfectly appropriate. Now, go back and read The Hobbit.

Yes, Unity is really lightweight engine and editor, very adptable component system , integrated C# , easy framework. I hope UT5 to be out this year , the main question i have is if UT5 will be more capable to handle larger complex levels ?

He's kind of a necromancer in name only though. He resurrected himself sure, but it's not like he has an army of undead orcs or something. Do I have to get into the logistical nightmare that is resurrecting yourself, so really he probably wasn't even dead-dead. Or it was one of the ring-wraiths that brought him back, so saying that he was the necromancer isn't even accurate and it's more of a ruse.

Ever since blizzard took out any hope for the necromancer's return to the diablo franchise, people have had a hole for raising the dead they just can't fill.

He does kind of fit the MO of a necromancer more than the actual necromancer.

Make Flappy Bird like game in Unity for android , earn 50000 dollors a day if you are so lucky.
Same thing happened to the developer of flappy bird , although I'm not sure if he used unity or some other tool.
One thing is for sure , talent + idea pays you.

    Man I love making games.

I've been working on my game for quite some time. Even though I'm doing my best to make it pretty I'm not sure if it's what the market is after...if I can make just the bare minimum profit to live-- NAY scratch that, even half the bare minimum to live, I'll be super happy. Because that means I only need to make two games to be a full-time game game-dev... so I can tell people I'm a game developer... I might even make business cards to impress random people around the street.

I can't wait to finish my current game (I estimate 4-5 more months), so yeah it's taking a lot of time, but this is my final "learning game", meaning this is the first full game, but also paved the way for other games (and I'm not rushing it). My next games are going to take much less time, they'll be easier to make, perhaps more fun to play, and I already have most of the basic know-how.

    All thanks to Unity!

You'll have to keep learning as long as you make games though.

Hmm you've got me thinking, and you're absolutely right!

I'm going to rephrase it- it's the last learning game in short/mid terms... in the sense for a while (after I finish this game) I'm going to stay somewhat in my comfort zone for the next few games - down my development time to 2-3 months per game- and when(if) I feel confident, both professionally and economically, I'll move to more complex things than platformers and such.
