    Idea guy articles...

    YoureUselessIdeaGuyFeatured.jpg

    You're useless, idea guy...
Making games is a dream for many people, ranging from kids to the very old; it doesn’t know age at all. People love the idea for many reasons, some people think they can present interesting plots, others believe that their programming skills could get them better gameplay than many games and the majority of the rest believe that they have an idea worth realizing, and guess what? This is where my problem lies; it lies in “idea guys”.

There's no room for the idea guy
    from the owner of BaseCamp

Startups need people able and willing of doing the actual work. They need programmers, designers, and eventually folks to do marketing, support, and more. What they don’t need, though, is someone who’s just going to be The Idea Guy.

He is now, but he's earned that right through previous, legitimate, high-quality work. It's OK to be an idea guy if you have a reputation for excellence and good ideas. Most MMO kiddies don't.

As an example, compare the following situations:

    1. fredmaster2089: "hi guys i have an idea for an mmo i need coders and artists"
    2. J.J. Abrams: "I'm currently producing an MMORPG. Bad Robot is currently hiring programmers and artists for the project."

    For those logo designers.

I appreciate that you post on this forum advertising that you can do logos. But don't outsource your own work to someone else. #ideaguy

I got too distracted on that one by trying to figure out what he's wearing. It's like he's in a poorly constructed cocoon of sweaters where he's slowing transforming into Bill Cosby

I used to make Computer Nerd pickup phrases like you, until I took an arrow to the knee.

It was justified, in my honest opinion. I even congratulated her on the shot via FaceBook.

I've heard so many people get mad about that generalization, particularly the version where it regards fixing motorcycles or some engine... but the reason it is funny is that it is soooo many of us have experienced this.
